  1. It depends if I'm reading in my first or second language. I don't bother so much in English as I have a reasonably well developed vocabulary. However, in Spanish, I often write the word down, keep reading and check later. What's your first/strongest language, Vinay87?
  2. Have you read The Second World War by John Keegan? I enjoyed that a lot. Regards.
  3. Many thanks for the replies. I already have the Barker triology in the house. The previous thread was very helpful in generating options. Initially I'll follow up Citizen Soldiers, Band of Brothers and Gone to Soldiers. Cheers to all.
  4. This is my first post to the forum, I hope I get lucky. I would appreciate any recommendations as to books about the Second World War 2. Specifically, I have two preferences: 1. Fiction about the war experience in Western Europe. I really enjoyed the movie Saving Private Ryan, so something along those lines would be great. Equally, perhaps a novel about life in WW2 Britain. 2. Non-fiction about the experience of soldiers fighting in Western Europe. I live in Mexico, but will be in the US for a week in August, when I will head to Barnes & Noble, Borders and similar chains. Hopefully someone can recommend a title that could be found in such stores. Many thanks.
