  1. I will sometimes randomly pick up books from the fantasy genre by authors I had not known to read.
  2. I like to read on the bed in my room or sit in the couch in a library.
  3. If it is fiction, I will finish the book regardless of how bad it is. It is just a matter of how long I will take to finish the book. (Could be one year).
  4. I am interested in reading books and want to participate with like-minded people in a forum. I search in the search engine and that is how I find this forum.
  5. I am 26 years old this year.
  6. I am from the country of Singapore. It is a small country, located in Southeast Asia.
  7. The Tenant of Wildfell Hall. That is the title of the book by Anne Bronte which I like.
  8. 1 Pride and Prejudice - Jane Austen 2 The Lord of the Rings - JRR Tolkien 3 Jane Eyre - Charlotte Bronte 4 Harry Potter series - JK Rowling 5 To Kill a Mockingbird - Harper Lee 6 The Bible - 7 Wuthering Heights - Emily Bronte 8 1984 - George Orwell 9 His Dark Materials - Philip Pullman 10 Great Expectations - Charles Dickens 11 Little Women - Louisa M Alcott 12 Tess of the D
  9. This is a book about child abuse. The author was abused by his mother when he was a child, until he was 12 years old. The 'crazy' mother burned the author's hand, deprived him of food for 10 days, made him ate his own vomit, made him ate dog's food, poisoned him with chemical, hit him and did not call him by name, but instead, called him by the word, "It". The story really portrayed to me about how mad people can be, sometimes. As I read the story, I think the mother is mad. Something must be wrong with her to abuse her child the way she does.
  10. The Three Musketeers - Alexandre Dumas Dracula-- Bram Stoker Oliver Twist-- Charles Dickon
  11. I love a book by her. I forget the title of that book. It is about this widow who everyone kind of despise. But a guy, his name is gilbert, I think, fall in love with her.
  12. When I was still a child, I remembered reading his book, Oliver Twist. It was a very thick book for me as a child, but I managed to finish it. I really enjoyed it. I felt a lot for the orphan, Oliver and the sad life that he had to go through. I love the ending, though.
  13. I had to read this book for my GCE A level literature examination. However, I really enjoy the book.
  14. I really like the song of ice and fire by George R.R martin. I had read the first 2 books of this series, and I am currently reading the third book, a storm of swords. I find the story to be rich in characterisation and to have surprising plot twists. I wonder if anyone likes his story as well.
  15. Hello! I am S.gal83 from Singapore. I love to read books, and especially books from the fantasy genre. When I read a book I like, I can finish it in two days even if it is 1000 pages long. On the other hand, when I read a book I do not like, I can take as long as a year to finish it. One habit of mine is that once I start reading a book, (only for fiction), I will finish it. Even if it takes me a year. Therefore, I am a reader of both good and bad books. However, recently, I find myself lacking the time to read books. This is due to the heavy numbers of assignments and projects in my current coursework. I hope to find more time to read more books once my coursework is finished. When I was younger, I was forced to read classic literature books by Thomas Hardy, Joseph Conrad etc as part of my literature study. Most of my classmates find such books to be boring but I actually enjoy reading them. I don't like to watch TV, though. I love reading, but not watching TV. I find the shows on TV to be too violent at times for my taste. I can read about violence in a book, but when it comes to watching it on screen, I cannot take it. Enough about me. I hope I have an enjoyable time here!
