  1. I want to get my boyfriend a book for Christmas but he's never really got into a lengthy book before. He says that he likes books with simple pictures or decorative bits in it as he's rather arty, anyone have any ideas?
  2. Nicholas Sparks, I could get him to write me beautiful love letters all o f the time
  3. Recently I bought a book from a charity shop and there was a boarding pass in there which must have been used as a bookmark and it made me think about the person that read it before me. I always find myself wondering what the person who owned the book before me thought of different parts of the book. I find it strange that someone else has read exactly the same words as I do and I'm curious about how they react to these things. I feel the same way when I see notes etc on books but not if they're so bad that you can't read the text easily. Because of this I leave little pieces of paper with my opinions of the book in books that I give back to charity shops along with my email in hope of someone also giving me their thoughts on it geeky I know but I think that I'd love it if someone got back to me
  4. I adore Nicholas Sparks's stories, and The Notebook was the first of his books that I read. I love how involved I always end up becoming with the story and characters, and seem to cry at every book!
  5. Hi, I'm Kirsten and have just signed up to this website in the hope of being able to talk about books as I'm yet to find someone who shares the same passion for reading as I do. I'm only 16 and am going on to study English Lit next year, so I'm really looking forward to that:D
  6. I've read Atonement and loved it but I am currently reading Enduring Love and although I find the storyline interesting, I can't seem to get into it properly because of the many paragraphs about science. It may just been because I'm a young reader I suppose but apart from that I keep finding myself wanting to go back to read it, so that's surely a sign of a good book
