I was disappointed with Kite Runner. I thought that though the movie was good, it did not do justice to the book. I do agree that Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was a great movie that was very accurate to the book.
Does anyone watch the movie first and then read the book?
I agree, I would love to write a children's novel. However, it seems awfully hard to get published. Or once you get started...going somewhere great with it so that it does not end up like every other children's book out there.
I read the back about the synopsis, only if the title and front cover lure me in. Does anyone read the last chapter first? I have heard of people doing that, and for me it is unthinkable!
I have read the first in the series.... It was good, a quick read much better than the movie. However, I too did not feel compelled to read the rest of the series.
I'm a teacher and love to read aloud to my students books that are engaging:
Holes
The Chronicles of Narnia
Where the Red Fern Grows
The Witches
Gooney Bird Greene
I have read both and yes, I think that A Thousand Splendid Suns was better. I agree it makes you go up and then down in the same page. The story is unbelievable.
