  1. I can definitely see you being a business woman, haha. You seem like you'd be a tough negotiator. Ouch D:
  2. The Magic Tree House books, for sure! I remember when the 3rd graders at my school made a fake tree house for the school library and the librarian wouldn't let me sit in it because I was a 4th grader. My absolute favorite was the Little House series, though. Some other old favorites of mine are A Series of Unfortunate Events and *laughs* Captain Underpants. I still have my huge collection of American Girl Doll books, too. I miss the old days :')
  3. I certainly would've bought one, haha. Ah, so that's why... (I kid, I kid) We certainly are a heavily medicated generation. But it's good to enjoy life. You've only got one of 'em, after all. Well, thanks for the info. I now know to stay far away from the upper midwest, haha I love NH! My parents used to take me to Maine every summer, and we would spend a lot of our time in NH. It was great going into town during July 4th to see the fireworks. And I loved going to the ocean there. We never saw Robert Frost's home, though. You'd think we would've since my mom is a book lover, too. Now I feel like asking the 'rents if we can go back up there one last time, haha.
  4. Tybalt, the king of cats! But, then again, I love everyone in Romeo and Juliet.
  5. Let's not forget the mosquitoes! Yay! Seriously my least favorite part of nature. Haha, you're a lucky woman. The manliest show I get is the display of scrawny, hairless, man-boys in gym class. Well, I also get the pleasure of seeing my Dad sunbathe every summer *shudders* Ah, traveling; another thing I'd like to do. You certainly are living my dream, ii
  6. Haha, well that sure is manly of him. The most nature I've ever seen is when I went hiking in Maine. Kind of fun at first, but really boring after a while. I'm not an outdoorsy person. Oh, I see what you mean. I grew up in the suburbs and the only two cities I've ever been to are Boston and New York. I guess I haven't quite experienced city life like you have. Sorry I didn't cath your true meaning. Cities are more like a fantasy to me than anyhting else. It's my dream to live in a big city some day.
  7. I read it freshman year for my English class. I really enjoyed it. I can't remember why my teacher had us read it, though
  8. That's why I like cities in general. I just love the city life.
  9. And so my list of recommendations begins... I love war stories, especially ones about WWII. I have this morbid fascination with the Holocaust. It started when a friend of mine let me borrow Night by Elie Wiesel. I read it when I was taking a class on World History, so the two of them combined just sparked my love for World Wars.
  10. I can't do ANYTHING when I'm in a car. Reading, writing, drawing or even staring at my Mp3 player gives me terrible nausea. I have to stare out the window and focus on breathing...
  11. Mine too! The Scottish side of my family came here around that time. I've always loved American history, especially the late 18th century and 19th century. It's almost like a soap opera. Thomas Jefferson's my man. I'm also a very very distant cousin of Abraham Lincoln, which is pretty cool I love visiting all the historical sights too, so I don't blame you. Because of this, my favorite city is Boston. I just love the history there.
  12. America I do love where I live. There's lots of history in Massachusetts (No matter how long I live here, I will always have to spell check my state name.) I love History.
  13. Wow, thanks for all the welcomes And I'm glad I'm not alone when it comes to my taste in books. As for that huge list of recommendations, I'm up for the challenge. Good thing I'm taking a trip to Borders during April vacation. Borders is such a magical place. Thanks again, guys!
  14. Recently I have found out something horrible; I don't fit in on the Internet. I was contemplating becoming a hermit when I decided to try something new. A forum with serious discussion! Yay! It might take some time for me to assimilate, though. Got to cut down on those sarcastic remarks and cynical outlook. The Internet sure can harden the heart. *Laughs* Anyway, I'm still just a High School student (I'm not sure there are many here. I feel immature, haha.) so my bookcase is basically filled with Twilight and Harry Potter (Don't worry, I've grown out of Twilight.) I'm hoping to get a lot of good book recommendations here so that I can move on to some other books. Anyway, I'll probably lurk a lot at first and try to get accustomed to my new surroundings. I'm a bit timid when it comes to forums Well, there's my cheesy commercial like introduction. Um...
