They both write amusing rom-coms from a male perspective. It's a topic I would usually avoid with skill, but my mother made me read 'em, because she knew I'd like 'em. And, to be fair, I did. They're very funny. Check 'em out! I hope you're having an ace day. I've been to Waterstones and bought a barrow load of books. Can't help myself when I'm in there, dammit.

Morning, ii. I'm sorry to read you've lost your friend. It's a terrible thing to lose someone whom you respect, admire and love so suddenly. I know that this may sound like a platitude but, if it does, please believe that it's not meant to.
My thoughts are genuinely with you. It's not an easy time for you.

I have my own band, which plays my stuff. I've been writing songs since I was 15 years old - it was with my first band that I got to play down the west coast of your country. Back then I was the drummer, but I play the piano, bass, sax and guitar as well (in fact, I teach the drums, bass and guitar). In this band, I'm guitar and lead vocal. The genre is hard to place, but I'd say it's like melody focussed rock with McCartney/Neil Finn influenced melodies and Red Hot Chili's, Led Zep, Radiohead music influences. I guess a band you could equate us with would be Elbow, to a certain degree.
So, it's four in the morning where you are, right now - so have a great day!
'Bye for now.

The Crow Road isn't one of his sf/fantasy novels. He writes those under Iain M Banks. However, your purchase of this book will not be a poor one, for it is a truly wonderful book. The father of the protagonist is a character I identify with - he holds similar points of view to me. I loved the novel. I'm sure you will, too. Ask your fella about it. He'll confirm my judgement.
I hope this finds you very well, my friend. Cheers!

Hi there! What did you think of it? It's brilliant, don't you think? I'm so looking forward to the 3rd book. Hope you're okay.

Hellooooo Kate! Thought I'd see how you are. I imagine you are currently having a lovely time. I hope this is the case.
Ta ta for now. X

Well, to be honest, life is a bit of a whirlwind, a cacophony of activity if you will, but I have plans to alter a fair amount of it. I've a few days off, which is pleasant, but these seem to be being filled rather quickly - however, I'm refusing to do anything today, which is nice. Happy days, eh.

Good morning, Genevieve. It has been a while since I last dropped you a line - I've been on the internet less, very busy in the evenings, hiding under a blanket, that sort of thing - so I thought that now would be an opportune time to do so. How are you?
Has your Christmas been lovely, quiet and full of lovely people? I hope so, my friend. Mine has been a little hectic, but it is easing off a little for the next 5 days, which makes me glad. I have had the opportunity to cook for my friends, which is something I always enjoy - playing host and not poisoning anyone in the process! - and it's been nice seeing my family.
What's happening in your world, my lovely friend? Hoping you are very well. X

I'm pretty tip-top, currently, I thank you. Finished the book. Awesome stuff - a bit darker than his others, what with the topic and all that, but blooming magic! I can hardly wait for his next one (still, I've got a Murakami to read next to put me on a bit).
I hope this finds you tickety-boo, dear CW. Pip pip and toodles.

Thanks for the post, lady. I'm sure you'll enjoy Her Fearful Symmetry. Have you read any Elizabeth Kostova? Another good one! x

Woo-hoo! Hey Rach! Just popping in to say "Hi" before I toddle off to bed to snuggle up with Murakami (in book form, of course...not the man himself...that would be weird...)
So, moving on, I hope you're very well and that you are enjoying life at this time. I personally find the December/January thing hard going, but that's because I'm a big old patsy who needs to 'Man Up', I believe the phrase is. There you go. I'm doing it again.
Sigh.
Night night, chum of mine.

Hiya Giulia. I'm off work today - burnt out a little over the last few weeks with so little sleep and complete madness to deal with during the days - so have time to read, nap and watch a few DVD's.
How are you doing, my lovely friend? What's goin' down in Groovetown? x
