  1. I'm really intrigued by this book and look forward to reading it. I just have to wait for it to come out in paperback.
  2. I just finished reading this a couple of days ago. Very enjoyable. I too love all the witchy stuff!!
  3. I'm re-reading my Twilight books at the moment. Don't know if I will re-read Breaking Dawn though. Just didn't like that one very much.
  4. Count me in as a Barbara Erskine fan. I've read all of her novels, except the latest which I have on my tbr pile. My favourites are still the first two I read, Lady of Hay and Kingdom of Shadows. I love how she interweaves present day and the past and writes characters that you really care about.
  5. I've re-read lots including Pride & Prejudice, all the Anne of Green Gables books, Diana Gabaldon's Cross Stitch series, all the Patricia Cornwell Scarpetta novels, Linda Fairstein's earlier books, Agatha Christie. Too many to list really.
  6. This book is on its way to me now. Hopefully, it should be here tomorrow and I can start reading it soon. Really looking forward to it as the comments on here have intrigued me. I've read a few of the Grant County books and always enjoyed them so I'm sure this will be no different.
  7. I read this last year and really enjoyed it. As a reader with very basic Shakespeare knowledge, I found it really engrossing so I would imagine that anyone who already has a good understanding of Shakespeare would get even more out of it. A good story with lots of twists and turns.
  8. I'm reading A Thousand Splendid Suns at the moment. It's got me completely hooked. I read The Kite Runner and though I enjoyed it, I think I'm liking this one more. Can't wait to get back to it. Will come back when I've finished. Well, I've just finished reading this remarkable book. I absolutely loved it, even though it was so harrowing at times. I found the characters believable and felt for them every step of the way. I found this book much more engaging than The Kite Runner, maybe simply because the main characters in this one are female. I can't recommend this highly enough.
  9. I've got this sitting on my bookshelf. Haven't got round to reading it yet, and did consider getting rid when I was sorting books out a few days ago. I didn't though, and am now intrigued again. May give this one a go next. I have started this now and am about half way through. It hooked me from the start but like Kay, I don't really know why. I am loving it though and can't wait to get back to it.
  10. The first few books were her best I think. I still have the first 6 or 7 in paperback and they are my favourites. I haven't read them for a while so must look them out sometime soon. I thought the more recent books weren't so good, especially once Patricia Cornwell started writing from the third person viewpoint instead of from Scarpetta's. I'm so used to the books being from her point of view that the newer books don't read right to me (I will still always read a Scarpetta novel though!)
  11. Hello and welcome to the forum.
  12. Welcome to the forum. Have fun.
  13. I've read The Rosary Girls and Skin Gods and I have Broken Angels on my TBR pile. Thoroughly enjoyed the two I have already read and would recommend them to anyone who likes this genre.
  14. I remember reading this when I was about 15. It was passed around all the girls at school. It must have had quite an impact as I still remember certain details and I've never read it again.
  15. I enjoyed Plain Truth as well. I think Jodi Picoult has a knack for getting into different ways of life and making them real for everyone. I thought this book was very thought provoking and sad.
