  1. Oh yeah, I remember hearing your Mum's been doing research reading for you  Great series that Twilight! I've been reading this and that, now I'm going to finish Haruki Murakami's Sputnik Sweetheart and them I'm probably going to read Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, the very weird new version of Pride and Prejudice :D

  2. I'm not at all happy to hear that you've been feeling rough today! :( Has it gotten any better by now? *loads of hugs*

  3. Could you read the promotional guidelines of the forum, please? Thank you :)

  4. Please put up pics of puppy in your album, pronto, please! :)

  5. I ain't going nowhere near that place in the nighttime, too creepy

  6. Could you read the promotional guidelines of the forum, please? Thank you :)

  7. Yes it's very addictive! That might become a problem when uni starts in a couple of weeks :P

By the way, that's a really nice photo, and it's great to see the face behind the nick :)

  8. Hi Suzanna!

I sent you the book today! I sent it by land because that was somewhat cheaper so it'll take a bit longer to arrive, maybe 2 weeks. I hope you enjoy the book :)

  9. Hello! :)

Were you able to go and see Let the Right One In?

My friend has a sort of a home theatre movie thingy, this huge screen on the wall and we watch a lot of movies together. He's got a massive collection of movies and he sometimes gives me his list of movies and I can pick what I want to watch and then we watch 'em. Guess what he has got??? Let The Right One In!! I've got dibs on it now :D

  10. Yep BF coud've staid here till I got a bit better! He was very selfish not to stay but to leave instead to go to his friend's stagnight :tong:

Sorry to hear about your hubby being sick, vomiting is one of the worst kinds of flus. :( I hope he gets better soon and I hope you others won't catch it! We people tend to remember what we've eaten during the day, we don't need to see our meals coming back up in reverse order

Yeah you did mention my need to redecorate and it left me confused. My prof page? Or what? Surely not my avatar??

  11. Hi Bethany,

I noticed it's your birthday today and wanted to pop in and say Happy Birthday!! :D I hope you have a wonderful day, parteeyyy parteyyy! :D

  12. How are you today luv? Oh goodness, I've just realised that you've got a new beautiful background look on this page, The details are fascinating. When I someday get my own apartment I'll send you pics and you could sketch down some ideas for the decor! :)

I had to come here and tell you that the financial dilemmas I was having have now been solved and I can finally breathe again and not worry about making ends meet :) I'm so relieved and happy right now :D

  13. Sure I want to know about swimming and stuff  I was at my cousin's wedding this weekend and that's why I've been offline and haven't replied to you message yet. And I don't have time to reply it now either, I'm off to bed and will be getting up early to do my voluntary Ilosaarirock festival duties tomorrow, so I'll get a free ticket to the festival itself. I'll have to write you later :)

How was your weekend and how've you and the missus been? :)

  14. What, has the forum really been that quiet? Even peacefield said that not much has been going on. I guess it's the summer? Ooooh I see you've gone for another Deaver book, good for you!

I definitely didn't know Jeff Lindsay is on Facebook and I'm such a newbie there I would never have thought to check if he's there  I wonder why your message didn't who up, hmph! But do write to him, and maybe you could ask him to be a guest on BCF!! That would be wicked. (BTW when I get the chance to re-sign in in Facebook may I be so bold as to add you as my friend =P

Weird that you're not celebrating Midsummer in N.I, I thought it was a pretty global thing. Although I guess it wouldn't make sense in let's say Africa where there always comes dark at the same time and sun gets up at the same time, I think. See, in the most nothern parts of Finland the sun doesn't actually set down in the very mid summer :) (And the sun doesn't come up in the very mid winter... brrrrghh!)

  15. Halloo Charm!

I'm real sorry to hear about the sinus headaches hun :friends0: Especially since you already went through the op and you should be free from these headaches! It's no fair and no fun :( I definitely understand that the pc makes it worse, I think it's a real wonder that you've been able to read! Good thing that you're going to the doctor, I really hope they sort this thing out asap!! I'm reporting them to the union if they don't :motz:

The Black Dagger Brotherhood, hmph. Better than the Sookie books or Twilight? I think I'm going to put this behind my ear ^^ (= Finnish saying for I'll keep it in mind).

I'm good, staying at BF's at the moment. I'm wishing I could finish Gone with the Wind this weekend, I love the book but it's so small print and the book is thick and it's one difficult book to read in bed. And there are many books I'd like to get into! :D

Mojo waning a bit now, but will stick at it! How have you been? I see you're buying and still reading loads

  16. Abby!! You kind, kind, wonderful, thoughful person, you! I just received the postcard you sent me, I can't believe you sent me one eventhough you didn't go anywhere. Thanks you so much, it was really surprising and delightful to receive a real postcard from the States, it's now officially my first one :D It rather made me blush and almost teary-eyed, your kind words. Now this is a good way to start a new week :D

Ps. I wonder why it took so long, since you posted it ages ago. Maybe it got lost along the way, thank goodness not for good!

  17. I'll either stay home, see friends & read (I did that last year, the neighborhood was quiet&peaceful with the neighbors gone, it was pretty cool and I enjoyed it) or visit my hometown where a coupla my oldest girlfriends are having a gettogether+BBQ+booze =P

I understand your son, I'd be real happy to stay home alone were I in his shoes. I was 14 when I first stayed home alone for a weekend. I had 4 friends (!) overnight and we had a blast! We snacked and watched Pet Sematary 2 with E. Furlong  Everything went well and I'm pleased I got to stay home alone so young. Which leads me to the issue of trust. I think your son would be pleased to see you trusting him well enough to leave him home.

I do understand that you're real nervous about it. But try not to let it show to him, he'll figure you don't think he could handle it. If he's the least bit wise he'll know that he ought to behave really well because his success will determine whether he'll be left home alone anytime soon!

  18. Hello Nicola,

I'm great thanks! It's Midsummer this weekend and I'm really looking forward to it! After that I'm going to visit my BF's parents and go to Helsinki as well so there's a lot of visiting friends (and secondhand bookshops and the huge three floor bookstore!) ahead :D Do you celebrate Midsummer in England?

I'm really not liking Let The Right One In being like Lestat, that's the worst thing one can say about a novel :S I'm hoping to disagree with you on this one

You're right, I'm allowed to get disheartened from time to time as well as others who tread the treadmill to lose weight so to speak. Haha tread the treadmill, wasn't that funny. Don't crack now Nicola, you're doing so well! 5,5 pound is really good and I'm so proud of you :D If you do crack though, have a good time doing it, don't feel guilty about it and get back on track immediately after!

  19. Hello Mac!

I know it's been ages! Just haven't had the nerve to say hi because haven't been reading any Iain Banks' stuff or haven't managed to recruit BF =P I actually have noticed that you've bought the Dexter books, but I've also always noticed that you keep saying you should start reading them. Now what's up fellar? Don't think you could handle someone like Dex? You might be quite right there, he's a tough cookie.

BTW, what a lovely present, book tokens :D This makes me happy. There are still people who know exactly what to get to a person!

Was I really your first friend? Oh my, I hope I havent' been the poorest of the bunch :lol:

Whatcha reading right now? I'm ploughing through the Sookie Stackhouse books like everyone else ^^

    Hello!

And yes please! :smile2: I do like Kathy Reichs but have only read the first two books, but I blame Stephenie Meyer. Now that I'm over her, I have time to read other wonderful books. I guess there are quite a few Tempe Brennans before I'll get to Break No Bones but worry not, it will be read and cherished ;) Do you want something for the postage/the book?

I know how you feel about there not being a Booth! I've watched a couple of episodes of Bones and didn't like it, but had heard so many great things about the books that I had to try. Turns out the books are good but there's no Booth! What's that about? I wasn't actually a fan of his but I liked the chemistry between him and Brennan in the tv-series and was expecting something like that in the novels. Of course you must have taken it harder. I'm so sorry for you.

    I'll PM you my info.

    With many thanks,

    frankie

  21. I don't really think I need to find any more reasons to come to England, there's plenty of reasons as it it. It was so amusing reading the what are your plans for this summer -thread, with people talking about not making it abroad this year and only travelling in England instead. I really wanted to say eff off, I'd love to do just that!!

  22. Hiya Nicola!

Haha, 'miss Frankie' sounds like a very poor name for a drag queen

Anyways no problem Nicola, I appreciate people have a life besides BCF and they don't answer straight back :D Did you have fun at BF's parents? I hope you have a relaxing Sunday. I'm real glad to hear you're back though, I've missed your giggly spirits :lol:

Poor Marcus, the delusional fellar. But alas!! If I'm not mistaken he's actually quite popular on the polls? Why!! What's wrong with you people!!

  23. frankie

... once I figure out how it's done, omg lol.

  24. Yep, the party went well and people seemed to have fun so it was okay :)

And I can totally relate to your cooking for your partner for the first time, that is so scary! I'm glad it went okay and he liked it :) I bet you'll be more comfortable the next time you cook for him.

I never really learnt how to cook when I was still living at home with my parents because they were always too eager to give me advice and I always took it to mean that I don't know how to do anything myself  So I never liked cooking. And now I have a BF that's a really great cook and used to doing the cooking so I never really have to cook for him, and I'd be terrified to cook for him now. Why oh why does one have to feel so insecure :irked:

  25. No problem! I was very confused myself when I read Little Women because I expected some things to happen (because I'd seen the movie) and those things didn't happen at all. Then I decided to read the sequel Good Wives and realised that it was usually incorporated in Little Women and that the movie included both of those novels. Very confusing!
