  1. Hi Katie, Ugh! I forgot about the bugs!! The counties you mentioned in Pa are actually very close to where my husband and some buddies own hunting land, near state game lands. Its only about a 2 hour drive from where I am. Its a beautiful area up there. KirstyKat, thanks for the message. I posted on your welcome log. Carm, thanks for the warm welcome. I'm really glad I found this site. I look forward to talking to u again!!
  2. Hello KirstyKat and thanks for dropping me a line in on my welcome thread. Its nice to talk with another "newbie". This site really is great, isn't it. After reading a book, I often want to talk about it but don't have anyway to discuss it with. My husband isn't a big reader and, lets face it, if he was our genres would be vastly different. It'll be great to be able to discuss books with other people who are as enthusiastic about reading. Currently, I'm reading Night's Touch by Amanda Ashley, which is a paranormal romance. Honestly, though, my interest in the book is starting to wane a bit. I'm hoping it picks up here soon. Well, keep in touch...it was nice hearing from u.
  3. Katie... I hear ya about the seasons. The only thing I would change is having a longer Fall/Spring and not so much darn winter! I like snow for Christmas but after that, I hate it! I get cabin fever when we get so much that we can't go out. Of course, my oldest son LOVES it. Also, when the leaves turn, Pennsylvania is a beautiful area. I can't blame u when it comes to the fires/hurricanes. The hurricanes alone are enough to keep me from ever wanting to live in FL. In fact, when I visit family in FL, we always go in early summer to avoid the hurricane season. I live in a rural area, in a town in which we just got our 2nd red light within the last year! Its not easy to find something to do but small towns definitely have their advantages too.
  4. Oh, I totally miss My So-Called Life!!! How hot was Jared Leto in that show????? Have u ever heard his band (30 seconds 2 Mars)? They have a new song out that I LOVE!!
  5. Thank u EVERYONE for making me feel so welcome. I can definitely tell this is a warm and positive place. I can't wait to get to know u all better! I appreciate all the warm greetings!!
  6. Hi Renniemist...U will adore the Red Tent. It was bought for a friend. It wasn't something I would normally read but I'm so glad I did. Its a definite page turner! Let me know what u think of it. Thank u for your greeting. Its so nice having so many people welcome me!
  7. Hi Katie. So u are planning on moving to Pennsylvania? What brings u here? I can't imagine wanting to move from FL to here but I guess thats cuz I've been here all my life. Congrats on the manuscript!! What an accomplishment! I've never heard of the Lynn Kurland but maybe I'll look into her stuff. I'm really finding that I love the paranormal romance genre. Thanks for your warm welcome and I look forward to talking to u again!
  8. Hope u don't mind my jumping in. But, I'm a huge fan of vampire books. I just read the republished version of Vampire Diaries. (Books 1 and 2 have been released in one book but I'm still trying to find out when books 3 and 4 will be available). I'm 27 so I'm not exactly the targeted age for L.J. Smith's books but oh well. I also like Amanda Ashley and J.R. Ward.
  9. I definitely enjoyed this book! I found myself torn between hating David and feeling bad for him and the awful choices he made.
  10. Thank u IceCream. Well, I like mostly fiction and some of my favorite authors are: Beverly Lewis (Amish Fiction), Mitch Albom, I recently read Middlesex by Eugene Stephenides (spelling?) and The Red Tent. More recently though, I've fallen hard for paranormal romance. I actually bought Twilight by Stephenie Meyer by accident, not realizing it was a vampire romance. But, I'm so glad I gave it a chance! I've since read all three in that series. I love Stephenie Meyer, J.R. Ward (Black Dagger Brotherhood Series) and L.J. Smith. Currently, I'm reading Night's Touch by Amanda Ashley. I've gotten my older sister addicted to the genre as well.
  11. Hi u guys and thank u so much for the warm welcomes. I feel better already. I have to ask, many of u mentioned about my fav. books/authors. Where do I put that info? Do I start a thread in "Reading Lists/Blogs" and just talk about my favorite genre, authors, titles, etc.? I'm not totally new to being on forums but every one is so different. Once again, thank u for making me feel welcome. I hope to talk to u all again soon!
  12. Hi all, I just joined. I'm a 27 year old stay-at-home mother of 2 who LOVES to read. I have to admit I'm feeling a bit out of my element on this forum. I've been looking around and have seen few book titles or authors that I know or recognize. I'm from the US. I have to devote some time to looking around this site more I guess. I would love to meet some new people. Especially some who share my love of reading. I look forward to meeting u!
