Okay, you really need to PM me what trouble I've missed! *hands over cough syrup, if nothing else, it gives a nice high when mixed with a bag of gummy bears*

Thank you, I am better now. I still look like Rudolph, but other than that, much better.

*ducks* Books are good. They're heavy enough to fly well. (trust me, I know. As does BF, actually!) ... Oh, goody, so I can have George all to myself then. ... Glad to hear your start of school year was a humane one.

I'm few chapters short of it myself (shhh! don't tell anyone!) and it's really a pain! It's the style of writing, at parts it's okay, old and flourished but okay, and then it just goes off on this weird tangent that barely makes sense. And I'm like "oooh, here we go again" and skip a paragraph.

  2. ii

    And trouble-free? *grins*

Thank you. In fact BF did know what he was getting into, I've decorated his homes before. But unfortunately I couldn't do that, 'cause I came down with the most awful cold, and as I didn't want to make him ill (how good girlfriend of me), flew back up again. So now I'm hanging out at DD's feeling sorry for myself and looking like Rudolph the Reindeer! It's getting better, though, so maybe I'll get to fly home later next week. The flight here was pure torture.

Congratulations to your brother and his GF! That's wonderful news!

How was school? *laughs* I think I'll go and watch a George Clooney movie... (yup, totally rubbing it in... *evil laughter*)

  3. ii

Thank you! It's good to be back, even if briefly. I had a good time, thank you. Did you? Did you make it to your parents in the end, despite the snow?

  4. ii

    Happy New Year!

Thank you, it's good to be back, even if only little bit. I've missed you all.

I'm still in States, flying down to see BF and to do some decorating around his place (WITH his permission this time!) before heading back to the Old World.

    How was Christmas?

  5. ii

*laughs* I'm not hiding, I was just really busy organising the party.

    Happy New Year!

  6. Kiitos. Ja hyvaa joulua!!

  7. ii

Aw, Sweetie. I wish I could do more. Just give yourself time, and if it sometimes feels like you're moving backwards, that's okay too. It will get easier. Some things may be difficult for a very long time (like DD still won't spend more than three days in a row in Paris, I have some things hidden in the closets), but you will be fine.

Enjoy the beauty and magic of Christmas! From what I've heard of your mum, she'd be the type to draw funny faces on gingerbread men. So do that. *laughs*

*BIG hug* and lots of love,

    iiris

I'm much better, thank you. I'm lucky, I have some seriously good meds for it, and they work 99% of the time. I'm just all sleepy and foggy and chatting with little pink elephants for the rest of the day...

Oh no!! *laughs* You should rename the one that doesn't like the tree Grinch. I mean, who doesn't like Christmas tree?? Even I like it, and I had one fall right on top of me when I was year-and-half! Is it a real tree?

As you're into fashion, I'm starting to write my blog again, and as can be expected, there's quite a lot of fashion talk coming. So in case you're interested, you're more than welcome to have a look around! The link should be in my details.

  9. I deleted your post, as I'm sure you won't want your personal details on public display on the Internet.

I'll send the three books to you as soon as possible.

  10. Hi!

Yes, I still have both of them. Just PM your address to me, and I'll drop the off at the post office.

  11. ii

Aww, I know. If you ever want to talk, feel free to email me or anything. *big hug* It'll get better eventually, I promise.

I'm good. Well, I've slept through most of the day as I got a bad case of migrane but other than that, I'm fine. Christmas? Phew, not ready by far. I've finished writing my cards, but that's about it. Plus I'm making the final decisions for the New Years party I'm throwing (it was my turn), and everything, so I've been busy... I only just got decorations out of the storage! But, it's okay, I won't be spending Christmas here anyways, so...

What about you? Got all the presents and wishlists completed?

  12. ii

    Hi!

Thank you for the Friends-request. I more than happy to accept.

    How are you today?

    Hi!

    How are you?

You liked Kathy Reichs, right? Have you read Break no bones? 'Cause I got it a little while ago and thought I'd give it a try as I adore Bones on TV, but I didn't get into it at all. (Turns out I only like the show because of the guy playing Booth. Should have guessed...) So if you haven't read it, I'd be happy to drop it off in the post and send it over once I get back to Finland. It's of no use to me.

Just drop me a line, if you're interested.

    *kisses*

Actually, I'm still not back. *laughs* Stopped by in Beaver Creek (it was close enough) for some skiing, now back at BF's again. I'll have to go home soon, he'll get sick of me...

The thesis is doing great, thank you. And yes, final stages, you could say. There's just a small thing called "entire economic theory -bit" missing! *cracks up* It's doing good. I just enjoy working on it too much, I don't want to stop.

    How was your weekend?

  15. Oh, good. I sometimes think my computer hates me, and does these sorts of things on purpose. If the keyboard wasn't so different in BF's computer I'd use that, but typing is just pain with it, I misspell everything!

Actually, if it's not too much trouble, I'd prefer a bit sooner, just the Chapter 5 bit, as I was hoping to send it to my prof still before the weekend. So if you could give me your thoughts on that one, and then the rest is fine whenever you have time? Just a few lines on whether it makes any sense at all. I'm known to think in non-lineary manner and other people often have difficulties following my logic...

Have I told you how incredibly much I appreciate you doing this?? Thank you!

  16. Morning!

    How are you?

Don't ask what I'm doing up this early, I don't know. I just couldn't sleep anymore. So I decided to make a pot of coffee and continue on my thesis. I decided to do the missing economic theory bit after all... *laughs*

Anyways, not to rush you or anything, but you did get it okay? I'm only asking 'cause as I was sending you that last PM, and started to open another window to Gmail, and close the thesis document, my computer decided to die, and everything went all funky for a while. So, just checking...

I was very little, but I did fell in love with the country. I've been back a few times, and loved it more and more every time. Some business development of DD's took us there, like I said, I was little. I thought my dad worked at drawing elephants with his computer. *laughs*

It did, thank you. *laughs* It's still sore, you know! I get the weirdest injuries!

Oh, that's good about your mom. Hopefully it was just a one-time thing.

Well, I was satisfied with the amount of votes, absolutely. It was great to see people being so active. But if you're asking if it's the book I voted for, no it's not. *laughs* I'm happy with it, though.

It's deliriously early, but I can't seem to sleep so I got up, made a pot of coffee and decided to start work on my thesis. My life is so glamorous!

  18. ii

Tell me about it. And as DD's used to getting things his way, it's sometimes difficult to convince him that my way isn't all bad... I know! It's like "hello! You were doing the very same thing when you were young, remember??"

Yes, it does. We lived there for a year when I was little. Correction: when I was young. I'm still little.

Oh, thank you, it did. I don't know, really. I flew out with BF and caught his game, but then he had to fly home with the team and for some reason they didn't let me in the plane. *rolls eyes and laughs* So I thought I'd go see Perfect Morning-After Voice, but as he was having some friends over for a visit I opted to fly over to Lake Louise and get some skiing (read: hanging out with Ski Guy and watching the guys race while sipping a hot drink in a cute sweaterdress and sexy boots)... I'm pretty much making my plans as I go here...

How have you been? I hope it was nothing serious with your mom! It must have been really scary. Are you okay?

    hugs,

It was great. DD doesn't approve of BF. Or well, he thinks he's a "fine young man" (his words), only not appropriate for me to be with. Sometimes I worry I'll end up marrying BF just out of spite. *laughs*

Oh, yeah, that would work too. *grin*

Erm, I know. We always flied over to the Estate for Thanksgiving, even though we sometimes did all other holidays elsewhere. But Thanksgiving was always in the States. Always. Even from SA. And somewhere along there I just got used to wishing Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. Partly because I think things like that have lost their original meaning somewhat, king of like "how are you?" or "you look great". No one thinks you really want to know about their breaking marriage and health issues and problems with parents when you ask "how are you?", just like saying "merry Christmas" has become more a politeness thing than actual wish of merry Christmas.

I need food. I always ramble when hungry. I think I saw some Pop-Tarts in the cupboard...

    Hi!

It's going great so far. I'm just getting dressed for the evening. BF's here, which is brilliant! I've missed him so much. DD's not too happy about it, but luckily it's a big party.

Awww... try different colors of pens. Or anything that lights up when you write with it. I once had a pen with a little cow on a spring on top that lit up when presed against the paper. Made even accounting fun. *cracks up*

I'll take a look at your blog once I get the time, I have it saved in my bookmarks.

Try to survive school! And happy Thanksgiving!

  21. ii

    *laughs* Glad I could help.

    Hi!

The weekend was fine, thank you. It was nice to see Old Dragon again, I keep forgetting that she's not going to be around forever (although if she could decide...) and that I should enjoy her company while I can. I managed to get more done with my thesis than I should have at the expense of my exam, so... Thank you, I'm going to need it! *laughs* Oh well, if it won't go well, there's one more go, and also my favourite "crying at the department, begging for alternative method of completing the course" -thing... I'm much better at written assignments, anyway.

I know what you're saying about A Complicated Kindness. It kind of stays with you for a while.

    How was your weekend, btw??

Off to bed now, as I can't type anymore, my little finger is killing me. And I think it's now starting to get swollen. It's a bit slow, don't you think? It's been like a week and now it goes "I'm hurt, I should swell up, right?" Idiot finger. *curses skiing* I blame Ski Guy.

  23. ii

TV's boring. I prefer actually being there. The parties are usually better. *laughs* It was a completely crazy thing to do, as the best ideas usually are.

I'm trying to get into some healthy sleeping pattern, so far no good. Maybe today I'll get inot bed in time... And I think every kid did that! I remember "needing" extra bathroom breaks just so I could read a little bit more after 'lights out'. Unfortunately both my parents and my nanny were up to my tricks, and eventually just took to taking the book away. Evil people! *pouts... and starts to laugh*

  24. ii

    What else was there...?

Oh, yes! Ou est tu? I had to drop it for a while, I got sidetracked by school work... But I'll keep you posted. I always have few book going at once... And as for sevent hell, voodoo's are more my style... *grin*

Oh, I'm so glad you're enjoying Complicated Kindness! I know the jumpy style is a bit much, but it's so worth it!

  25. ii

I know! And I had the same experience when Sara PM'd me in Finnish, it just felt 'off' in a way! *laughs* We'll stick to English then, I guess it's only polite.

Oh, the skiing! It was amazing! Ski Boy called me as I was recovering from my should-have-been-a-hangover, and asked if I wanted to catch the last flight and come see the races. As I was feeling up to it, I did. It was the course where they ran the slalom, so it was icy and worn, but it was sooooo nice. I didn't know how much I missed the feeling of snow under my skis until I went up. It was awesome! And seeing Ski Boy, everyone, with Grange winning and Bode second, it was just brilliant!

Yes, it's my dark secret, I knit! *laughs* Seriously, it's the most relaxing, calming experience ever! I can send you the pattern, and talk you though it, it's really simple... I love knitting, and making my own things.
