I've always been a keen reader, and with the help of the forum, I've recently been able to widen my horizons, and discover new authors and genres. I live in Kent with my hubby and 2 gorgeous girls, and I'm a part time practice nurse.

When I was 2 years old I learned to read and I've never been seen without a book since then - I even had a small book with me at my wedding! Pretty much any genre will keep me amused, but what really floats my boat is Terry Pratchett, Christopher Brookmyre and Kelley Armstrong. I'm also a huge horror fan and recently branched out into historical fiction. I live with my hubby, Dale, in the frozen North (i.e. Aberdeen, Scotland), work in the Chief Executive’s office full time and try to squeeze in as much reading as possible between that and writing book reviews for CBUK and, occasionally, for various authors.

I remember getting into trouble at school, as the teacher caught me reading Enid Blyton, in Social Studies class!! (Honestly much more interesting!) I am rarely without a book these days - I was even reading while having labour pains, and waiting to give birth. (And it was not how to take deep breaths either!! LOL) Since I have joined this forum, other readers have recommended books to me, which I really enjoyed, and therefore I have tried new authors. Hopefully I have given some new ideas to other people as well.

About a year ago, I realised that I had read all the books my favourite authors had written and decided it was time to expand my reading habits a bit further. A few taps on the keyboard and Ta-Da, I arrived at The Book Club Forum. I was made to feel very welcome and they haven't been able to get rid of me since! :)

I’ve always loved reading - as a child I’d walk round the house with my nose in a book and my catchphrase when asked to do something was “can I just get to the end of this chapter?” My parents called me Basil Bookworm! My reading tastes evolve all the time. When the children were little, I used to stick to ‘chick-lit’ but I’ve broadened my reading styles now they are older. I am married with two lovely children aged 11 and 9, and I live in Somerset, having moved from Kent when I got married.
