lunababymoonchild Posted August 15, 2024 Posted August 15, 2024 I just bought Ellery Queen, The Dutch Shoe Mystery. Watched the TV series as a child and loved it so will see how this goes. Quote
lunababymoonchild Posted August 16, 2024 Posted August 16, 2024 Just bought The Score by Richard Stark. Hard boiled American crime/mystery.  I'm very much liking this category too, @Hayley 1 Quote
lunababymoonchild Posted August 18, 2024 Posted August 18, 2024 Just started reading The Puzzle Wood by Rosie Andrews and realised it fits in with this category Quote
France Posted August 19, 2024 Posted August 19, 2024 A lot of the books I read fall loosely into this category! I'm near the end of One Good Turn by Kate Atkinson which describes itself on the cover as a 'Jolly Murder Mystery'. I read when it first came out (nearly 20 years ago) and am happy to say that it's every bit as enjoyable the second time around - good writing usually is. Quote

I enjoyed that one as well, just seen that there's a new Jackson Brodie book coming out. Quote

lunababymoonchild Posted August 22, 2024 Posted August 22, 2024 Ellery Queen, The Dutch Shoe Mystery. Saw the TV series as a child, in the 1970s, so thought I’d try this. Set in the 1920s, I’m six chapters in and it is entertaining, for a light read. Quote
