I lost control of mine years ago. So many that I probably won't read them in my lifetime.

I just bought Ellery Queen, The Dutch Shoe Mystery. Watched the TV series as a child and loved it so will see how this goes.

Just bought The Score by Richard Stark. Hard boiled American crime/mystery.

Just started reading The Puzzle Wood by Rosie Andrews and realised it fits in with this category

A lot of the books I read fall loosely into this category! I'm near the end of One Good Turn by Kate Atkinson which describes itself on the cover as a 'Jolly Murder Mystery'. I read when it first came out  (nearly 20 years ago) and am happy to say that it's every bit as enjoyable the second time around - good writing usually is.

I enjoyed that one as well, just seen that there's a new Jackson Brodie book coming out.

Ellery Queen, The Dutch Shoe Mystery. Saw the TV series as a child, in the 1970s, so thought I’d try this. Set in the 1920s, I’m six chapters in and it is entertaining, for a light read.
