Good action, keeping me guessing, great descriptive skills by our author, who knows such a great deal about English life in modern times. I've read it a few times and it is definitely one of her best! And the ending was NOT what I was expecting! 1 Quote

Am probably a bit dumb... 😅 1 Quote

Read the last chapter again and look for the conversation between the therapist son and his estranged wife. 1 Quote

itsmeagain Posted December 13, 2023 Posted December 13, 2023 (edited) Careless in Red, just battled my way through and it is extremely poor in my book. What oh what has happened to Tommy..??. Who, oh who, are these libido obsessed older , alcohol dependent, lecherous women..? Where's Babs..? Who killed the boy..? Nah Poor poor stuff. Edited December 13, 2023 by itsmeagain Quote
Madeleine Posted October 25 Posted October 25 Just seen on Facebook that they're rebooting, ie remaking with younger actors, the Inspector Lynley series. 1 Quote

Yeah, I'm not sure how I feel about it. The previous version was a big disappointment, character-wise. Casting aside, Linley was a despicable human in the way he treated Havers. In the books, you could see his reasoning for some of the things he did, but translated onto the screen all I could do was thoroughly dislike the man. I could kind of see Havers in her onscreen version but I would have loved for more of her quirky personality to show thru. I will give it a look, though. Quote

I think Elizabeth has a fixation with pop tarts, making Barbara virtually live solely on these sweet creations. Quote
