I did not like the idea of reading on a kindle. Then, I bought my wife a kindle fire for Christmas last year. Soon after, I bought one for myself. I really, really like reading on the kindle. Recently I started a re-read of The Hobbit on a paperback that I have. After a number of pages, I said the heck with this and downloaded the book from the library for my kindle. I have downloaded and read approx. 40 books from the library at no cost. Another thing i really like is the quickness, e.g. Frankie recommended a book to me and I accessed it and downloaded it from the library within 10 minutes. Same with Poppy, she recommended Caroline to me and I immediately downloaded it from the library, no wait whatsover and it saves me many trips to the library.

Recently, I read a review on a fairly new author, Ron Rash, in the newspaper's book section. I immediately looked it up and, bingo, downloaded it to kindle and am reading it. btw, so far so good with his newest book. I do see some resemblance to the writing of Steinbeck and Cormac McCarthy, but I am only a couple dozen pages into the book.

Bottom line, I really like the Kindle and am happy I started using it.
