  5. Yes, should most definitely do that Janet. I gave it a 5/5. I enjoyed The Midnight Palace and the Prince of Mist and a currently reading The Watcher in the Shadows.. Plus have three or four more of books on my shelf. I do like his writing whether it be for adults, it is never complicated yet nicely descriptive.

Yoda was the little wrinkled guy on Star Wars that gave wise advice to Luke .

  7. No they're not. Sorry! Wheels are the inner, normally metal part, tyres are the inflatable bit.. But you were close!
  8. Nope, wheels are wheels and tyres are tyres.
  9. I don't know..the synopsis seemed so?
  10. At least you learnt something new!
  11. I forgot TSotW!! I did show it to my Dad but he didn't seem keen. He is very fussy and it probably wasn't long enough!
  12. I'm pretty sure Kay was referring to a 4x4 (all wheel drive) car..
  13. Hee hee maybe we need to head over to Frankie's language/cultures thread to discuss this one...
  14. Have you read Titus Groan Michelle?
  15. Thanks Sari, it was Paula selecting it as one of her choice of books that have stayed with her that led me to it. She hasn't read Titus Groan yet unfortunately. The synopsis reminds me a little of Titus Groan (fantasy in the real world) so I'm wondering if my Dad will like it.. I need another pressie idea for him!
  16. I'm hoping so too.. How many books are there? Could we be here a while?
  17. Has anyone who has read Titus Groan (and liked it ) read Weaveworld by Clive Barker and enjoyed that too?
  18. I just added the new books to my TBR list on the first page of this thread. 76!!! How did that happen??!!
  19. Thanks Gaia, I only entered a couple of hours before I got the email too! Will try that again! Thank Devi.. Well, neither Steve or I have been married before but I can understand their feelings. It wouldn't change anything and we're both happy which is all that matters.
  20. 26. Frame every so-called disaster with these words. "In five years, will this matter?"

Excellent advice. We get so caught up in 'the moment' we forget that there will always be an after.

That could be used as a comment on One Direction.

  22. None taken, you're quite right in your diagnosis of my personality, hee hee! I have improved with age thankfully! I do hide the kids pressies very carefully though it case it happens to be a hereditary trait!
  23. That'll be me then!
