      Ha ha. True, Raven.

  2. Pixie

    I hope you don't mind. I added you as a friend. :)

  3. No, I have never read Ulysses. My cat had that name before I adopted him. The book is in my TBR pile, though. Have you read it and, if so, what did you think?

  4. Thanks for replying. I have just the one cat. His name is Ulysses (Uly) for short. He is a sweetheart. Glad you are doing well.

  5. Just stopping by to say hi.

    How are you doing? :)

  6. Black cats are the best! I got him from the local Humanitarians of Florida. They said people didn't seem to want to adopt the black cats, so I snatched him up. He was following me around at the shelter, so I guess he chose me. :D

Wow. Those are a lot of dogs. I love dogs, too, although I don't have one. I just love animals, period.

I'm doing okay, moving along nicely with my therapist. Still waiting for disability to send me my paperwork to have my payments re-instated, though. It's typical. They are always slow.

  7. Ok, let's see if I do this right this time.

Thank you. That is Ulysses (Uly for short). He is a sweetie as well as a cutie. He follows me around everywhere and pushes he head into me. :D

    Do you have any pets?

How are you doing, by the way?

*crosses fingers, hoping this message posts to the correct profile*

  8. I will check out your list on the book ring thread when you update it. :)

Hmmm, the book "Secrets". I checked out the link and I noticed it was under "Christian" books. I don't mind spiritual or Christian themes in books, but I am not huge on religious themes. There is a difference for me between having a Christian, or Jesus-like attitude, and religion, if you know what I mean.

  9. I'm okay, considering I had to quit my job. Oh, well. Maybe I can use this time I have to start writing something. Thank you for the info about the meds. I will have to think about it. Meds frighten me. It's hard to explain.

I am glad you are okay. I hope your future best seller is progressing well. :)

  10. Hi, Abby. How are you? :)

I wanted to ask you a question, if I may. I believe you are in therapy, right? If so, are you on any medications and do they help you discipline your thoughts so it is easier to write creatively?

  11. I hope I am not intruding, but you mentioned in one of my threads that you take meds for your anxiety and depression. I would like to ask you a question, if I may. Do the meds help you discipline your thoughts, and therefore make it easier to write creatively?

  12. I would love to hear what you think of it after you have read it. Please let me know. :)

  13. I thought I sent a response to this, but I think I screwed it up. Anyway, I am fine. Thank you for asking! :)

  14. I sent you a friend request. I hope you are well. :)

  15. Hi, how are you? I noticed you don't have any friends yet here, so I thought I would add you. I hope you enjoy the Robin Hobb books. I love the series! Have a good day. :)

  16. Oh, if I could choose my career! That's easy. Writing. Unfortunately, I don't have the discipline. Perhaps for short stories, but there isn't much of a market for them.

I may vent some day, but for now I don't have the time because I must be off to work soon. I do have tomorrow off again, though. :D

  17. Hi, CaliLily.

Don't feel any pressure to respond. Respond only and if you want to. I am really understanding that way. It's one of the blessings of social anxiety. Wow! Oddly enough, years ago I had thought about becoming a nun. Not really that seriously, though. Anyway, yes, I can relate to changing as a person and sometimes, unfortunately, that means you can't always hold on to the friends you thought you had. Such is life.

I'm okay, I guess. I would just rather be anywhere else than work. I am not sure if this is because of my social anxiety or just wanting to do the things I enjoy without feeling pressured.

  18. Just a few words of wisdom about religion:

Read the four gospels in the New Testament if you are so inclined. Those are the ONLY words in the Bible worth reading. The rest of the Bible is rubbish, in my opinion. If religious types actually read and understood what are in those gospels, they would truly be the wiser for it. The story of Jesus has much wisdom in it. It is people that misinterpreted it that built a religion around it. It was the message that mattered, not the messenger.

May you find peace in your life, whatever you choose. :friends0:

  19. I guess you are right. That is the trouble with social anxiety. I often fear I am being judged negatively, even when there is no evidence of such judgment. *sigh*

  20. Oh, no. That's okay. If I get paranoid, that's just because I'm...well..paranoid.

    But me...saying something interesting?

  21. Yes, thank you!

And thank you for the compliment on my poem. :D

Yes, I think I will be sticking around. Everyone is very friendly.

  22. Meh. It's okay. I have to go to work soon, which is sometimes a bummer for me. I see you are a fan of Flowers For Algernon. What a beautiful, but heart-wrenching book. I love it! It's my favorite. I hope your day is going well.

  23. Thanks for the friendship add. :friends0:

  24. :)Thank you for the friendship add.

  25. Well, you might be safe because you don't have the annoying Yankee accent that I have ;)

Hmmm, Bleak House and The Old Curiosity Shop would be hard to choose from. I would pick Bleak House, but then maybe that should be the last Dickens book to read because it is so long and has often been mentioned as one of his best.

    Dilemmas! :motz::lol:
