  1. Over 100 pages into The Passage by Justin Cronin and I am so hooked. :readingtwo:

    Bah, I finished that book, but barely. The beginning especially was a little tough on me, not all that interesting. Shows you that people do have different opinions. ;)

    Finished Dune today, LOVED it. Ordered the second in the series immediately, but delivery time can be till 7 working days (always with non-dutch books) so I started Moreta: Dragonlady of Pern, by Anne McCaffrey. Just the right mix of fantasy and sci-fi. :)

  2. ^Yessss, have seen that, and recognized it for what it was. Space Cowboy. :) I thought, hey I know that costume. ;)

    I have actually the dvd box for season 2, won it in a competition, woohoo.

    Ahhhh, love Castle, we still have some episodes for season 3 to go here thankfully, just started on telly, sometimes being behind on the US is no bad thing.

  3. Sounds promising, especially when reading the bit about it on Goodreads;

    In the near future, a signal is detected coming from the Alpha Centauri system. Mysterious, unintelligible data streams in for ten years. Heather Davis, a professor in the University of Toronto psychology department, has devoted her career to deciphering the message. Her estranged husband, Kyle, is working on the development of artificial intelligence systems and new computer technology utilizing quantum effects to produce a near-infinite number of calculations simultaneously.

    When Heather achieves a breakthrough, the message reveals a startling new technology that rips the barriers of space and time, holding the promise of a new stage of human evolution. In concert with Kyle's discoveries of the nature of consciousness, the key to limitless exploration—-or the end of the human race—-appears close at hand.

    Sawyer has created a gripping thriller, a pulse-pounding tour of the farthest reaches of technology.

    Put it on my TBR list.

  4. Lovely pics, again, Univerze. It totally looks like Fay is posing for that photo. Again, I'm struck by the quality of the pics. What type of dog do you have again?

    Thanks you! And this is one of our two, this one's a Bouvier (des Flandres).. we also have a little Yorkie, but she's not as tolerant and has to be kept out of the way as of yet.. takes her months to get used to a newcomer.

  5. Haha.. Cookie your cat looks so happy wearing that "hat". Hum, don't think Jamie would leave it on long enough to take a pic. ;)

    Today it was nice weather.

    Nice weather means pets in the garden, means pet pictures. Most lovely ones;

    Our pretty Fay;

    I love her little curly tail, and look at her lower lip, it's the cutest thing, she has this black spot in the middle of her lower lip (and gums).. so funny! Love our little lady.

    Fay, Jamie and in the background, Donar;

    Ain't they cute?

  6. I hate watching any sports, sometimes I can like a bit of (don't know the english words so ehh) horse sports, jumping and the stuff on music? ;) And some figure skating.

    I hate doing sports.. except I recently joined a gym, now actually months back.. and I ADORE zumba. Great music, great work out, I do it twice a week now with one or two hours at a time.

    Sometimes, fitness too but that's just because I need to, not love to. ;)

    But am more of the dancing kind. ;) Zumba's fun, salsa, reggaeton, etc.

  7. I am just taking my time rewatching the older episodes. Things always seem so different second time around. Like reading a book for the second time. I am also still waiting for new True Blood episodes, but since I got hooked on VD, well right now I am not in the TB mood. Anna Paquin can be so annoying. True Blood is a summer series for me, VD right now please. ;)

  8. Today I got Charlaine Harris' Dead Until Dark from the library. yes, I am finally starting the True Blood books. I love the series, always meant to read em, but didn't quite want to spend money on it till I knew if I liked em. It's hit or miss for me with books like this.

    Only downside about library books; someone doodled and scratched on the page of the.. blast, now I forgot what that's called.. the page where the author thanks special people. I totally and utterly forgot the english word for it. But anyway, someone did enjoy themselves with a pen there. Can't understand those people, it's not your book, so quit it!

  9. Aww, seems our itty bitty Fay of just 5 months is, how you say it I don't know, coming in heat? For the first time already.. you know, ready to mate?

    better call the vet tomorrow. *sighs* She's so tiny still, in my eyes she is still a baby, know it can happen this early though, she's early with everything.

  10. Aww well thanks ladies.. but I guess I am spoiled, my ex used to have this really fancy camera that let you take amazing shots, but I just have this red Samsung digital camera (don't ask me more about it hee hee, I just know that).. and in bright daylight it's fine, but when it's slightly darker, it is blah.

  11. Made this (and tons more) of Jamie and Fay today, they're slowly getting used to each other, especially on my room, with me present and just watching to see if big Jamie doesn't accidentally (don't think he'll hurt her on purpose anymore) hurt our little lady..

  12. Aww thanks! I try! :D Just wish I had a better camera, but they cost fortunes, but for now, this one will serve. Another post with pics cause this forum just allows a few at a time;

    Our lady Fay yesterday;

  13. One of my favourites of 2010 in all fairness.

    Thought it would be better.. :( I liked it, don't get me wrong, but I just hoped it would be more awesome. ;)

    I watched The Prestige again last night, love it always, besides it being a great film, it's got Hugh Jackman AND Christian Bale, eyecandy much? :)

  14. Thanks Weave! :)

    And yeah, what that is with cats and plastic bags.. buy the fanciest of toys, but throw ONE plastic bag on the floor and Jamie's forgotten all about any toy there is and crawls in the bag.. Fay's too small yet, plus she's not able to walk free just yet since our doggy's a bit mean every now and then, not used to her yet, but I imagine her doing that too when she's bigger.

    We should just all save our plastic supermarket bags. The crinkly ones (like ASDA etc) are best. ;)

  15. Itty bitty kitty Fay (though she's currently at 2,1 kg so not too itty bitty anymore, she's also just exchanged/changes her canine teeth, not only (pre)molars to go) and me today.. our doggy was just walking by, is why she's looking away.. ;)

  16. ^They advice bepanthen here too, or plain white vaseline from a tube. But the scabbing only starts a little later doesn't it, not after one day, so it could always happen still, but as long as you keep putting that bepanthen on it it'll be fine.

  17. Well I finished it some days ago, and to be honest, about the whole book? It was original, that's true, and not a bad read, but not all that I had expected. I didn't like that they took the whole vampires thing for an apocalypse.. I will say there's more to be had about that I hope, seeing it's only 1 out of three books.

    What I liked least is that I didn't really care much about any of the characters. They didn't feel alive to me.. Amy intrigued me, mildly, but that's all. I like it when books make me cry and laugh with a character, and didn't have that for this one. It felt like a bit of a let-down. I actually had to stop myself (and failed a few times) skipping half pages because I was bored. May be because my reading mojo is somewhat absent these days, but still, I gave the book 3/5 stars in Goodreads. I will start on the next parts if the library gets em, won't spend money on them seeing as they're big books and possibly expensive.
