  1. You're welcome, I hope your birthday lived up to your expectations :)

  2. I think one should go to the cinema leaving behind the idea of the book one has read. Literature and cinematography are two completely unrelated way of telling a story. So you'll always be ddisappointed if you go there trying to recreate the same atmosphere you'd experienced while reading.
  3. I don't know if it is just a snobbish thing. I don't like this commercial things, books published in a new vest just for selling reason: I think a book is something which as to do with the human need to tell stories, to share emotions and knowledge. The need to grow richer and richer is not included I see their reasons but I don't have to follow them
  4. I recall too having left the cinema with tearing eyes and a swollen heart. It's a very long and sad story about living the life, about love and being love despite and against everything. It's a good film and ther's a good Kate Balnchet to see. But.
  5. Hi Princess, I hope you're having a wonderful birthday :)

  6. The secret garden - Frances Hodgson Burnett (on my TBR list)
  7. House of leaves - Mark Z. Danielewski
  8. It seems funny. I'll have a look at the link
  9. I've read it once, on my way back home from Berlin. I read it in "real time", as if I was the one listening to this compelling story. Absolutely to read in one sitting
  10. Should I change my previous state, having started another non-fiction book and being at my fourth?
  11. Absolutely right except for the drop of milk
  12. First time you happen in Sicily I'll suggest you some ultra-delicious servings from mediterranean fish to inland Sicily cheese we have a lot of awesom (and hyper-fattening ) recipes.

I'm better now. Hope you're well too and enjoyng your day off :)

  14. I can't stand platitudes, silly facts which are nowhere to be found but in the stereotyped image we've build in our heads. I tend to avoid them as the worst thing ever. But my italian brain couldn't help showing me a smoking serving of spaghetti with tomato sauce and Parmiggiano chees on top. at least is not pizza
  15. I'm fine. I followed your advice and skipped the gym. Thanks again. As for Dexter, I think you should give him a try and buy the first season DVD. This season is really worth it. I remember watching X-files when I was a boy and it really scared the hell out of me. I agree the early seasons were better than the most recent ones. Unfortunately in Italy Seinfield is not so popular. Once in the USA I saw him in a live show and he was great. I got bored and missed out in the list Six feet under, but that too deserved a special place among my favourite series. Though I think series 1, 2 and 5 are really good, while few episodes of the 3rd and 4th are outstanding.

    Hello!

    Hi Sally and Welcome !
  18. Errata corrige: Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell is due to be released in 2010.
  19. HP and Wolverine are probably the most expected and for me the most frightening: I fear they couldn't be up to my expectations. Another film could be Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell, but checking it on Imdb it seems in stale.
  20. Welcome
