It's an awfully long time since I've been on here. Hoping to come back more regularly as I'm about to retire from my job so can concentrate on important things now like more reading - yeah!!

Morning all, I've not been around for a while. I'm back in the land of the living after my daughter's wedding the other week. It was a beautiful day but now back to some serious reading!

Only 3 months to my daughter's wedding. So much preparation and so little time left!

What a day for the washing machine to break down, still not the end of the world ... oh hang on .......

I've got a Hot Air Balloon fight booked for this evening. The weather conditions are good. I'm sooooo excited!

Felt sorry for the Thai girl on BGT last night. She was awful but the judges were soooo rude not to even get her name right. MacIntyre was calling her "watching porn". She was gracious in defeat.

My Mum had a fall yesterday - broke her arm and hit the side of her head on the sideboard - she has a real shiner. Was up at the A&E until late yesterday evening!

Still can't get in the Christmas spirit!!

House was broken into on Monday night. Totally ransacked the place and they stole all my jewellery.

My book still hasn't arrived from Amazon - now come on, own up, whose got it?

I really want to finish my book but my boss keeps coming round to give me work. Should I tell him to go away?!?

Don't you sometimes wish you had two pairs of eyes, or at least could read a book in each hand. So many books, so little time .......

I've only been off for a week's holiday but have come back to thousands of emails and no cover while I was away. I feel like jagging it in and going home to read my book.

Darn it!! Why does work get in the way of reading a good book!

Really want to start my next read but I've got to get my self assessment tax form out of the way or I won't be able to concentrate. Grrrr.

I bet I'm many thousands of year older than you though, hehe. My favourite books are The Sherlock Holmes ones, followed by Medieval Historical fiction, victorian and russian, pro or post revolution fiction. Occasionally I pick a present-day whodunnit. Quite like sagas but I have to be in the mood.

Hi Inver, many, many thanks for your offer but I noticed it in the library at the weekend, so when I've finished the present stuff I've got out, I will get it out then. Probably after Christmas as I have so much stuff to read over the holidays. Thanks for the kind offer though.
