  1. If I don't like a book I abandon it way before the last 100 or 50 pages. I read it to the end no matter how much it bores me. I just try to finish it quickly to start a new, hopefully better one.
  2. Has anyone watched the ESC yesterday? Which song did you like best and what do you think of the winning-song? I really liked the Azerbaijans and the Armenien's song.
  3. Still no time to read. For 2 1/2 weeks I haven't even read a single page. I hate it.
  4. No time to read since last Saturday, I hate it
  5. OMG I really looove strawberries. Here in Germany the strawberry season begins at the end of June.
  6. Why shouldn't young people read books too? I'm 16 and I've read books since I was able to.
  7. I usually use a piece of paper as a bookmark.I just don't understand why people spend their money on beautiful bookmarks. I don't efen see it when I put it into my book. So I go perfectly well with my little-piece-of-paper-method
  8. Soo happy! Tomorrow we will go to Hamburg to see the musical "Love never dies". It's the 2nd part of "The phantom of the opera" and I hope I'll enjoy it :)

      @Athena, I hope so too :)

  9. Already read 300 pages of Mystic city #1 by Theo Lawrence (2nd day of reading it ) I really looove it. I (actually) always love dystopian books and this one is one of one best books I've read this year so far
  10. Awww that's so cute, (I actually don't even like soccer, but that's cute)
  11. Imagine it looks kind of funny. Never heard of it so I have to google some pictures right know . But why should robots play soccer? Because they can?
  12. (Don't know if anyone already mentioned it but) I'm really looking forward to "Lady Midnight by Cassandra Claire." The book will be released in the end of May. I think the English version already is available. Has anyone read it so far? And I can't wait for the last book of Jennifer L. Armentrout's Lux series, "Opposition".
  13. Today we went to our local "beach" today for the first time this year. It was pretty cold, although we had 17℃ but there was a strong wind. Unfortunately we had no water today. This black muddy stuff you can see on the pictures below we call "Watt". (The quality is not that good since I took the pictures with my phone and I had to minimize the size)
  14. Oh my god, even the cover looks spooky . Finished my Jeaniene Frost book today. Don't know yet what to read next.
  15. We recently watched "Fack ju Göthe 2" (Yeah I know it's not spelled correctly ) I thought it was really great. So funny if you like these kind of movies. Btw: is the film also well-known in the English speaking world? In Germany it's currently one of the most famous films.
  16. @Madeleine Many people say German is a difficult language, do you know what was so difficult for you? Have you tried to read any German book? I think Latin is a veeery difficult language. You have no chance to talk to other people (I think that makes learning a language much easier) you have to study a looot of vocabulary and the language has many grammar rules. You really have to go through the sentence word by word, annoying and not easy. Btw: In 6th grade (after 2 years of secondary school English) I tried to read an English book for the first time, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's stone, I comletely failed . Some years later(when I was finally able to read English books with a dictionary) I was so proud of myself when I finished the first book without looking up any vocabulary .
  17. I already opened such a thread around 3 hours ago . http://www.bookclubforum.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/14078-which-languages/
  18. Wow almost every book in a foreign language, not bad woolf And I think Hamlet and other old classics are be difficult for many people, probably even for some English people . Just a general question: Aren't many English books translated into Portugues?
  19. Thumbs up! I think your voice definitely matches the song, I really like it. :) But I think the music is a little (too) loud sometimes. It's as loud as your voice and I think it would be good if your voice was a little louder than the music.
  20. Hey everyone, For me the following topic is really intersting so I decided to ask you I'd like to know which languages did you learn (or currently learn) in school. Here in Germany English is the first foreign language for almost everyone. Depending on your school you can learn a bunch of other languages. I learned French some Latin and last year I had to start learning Spanish instead of French. So which languages did you learn (or had to learn)? Do you also read books in any language you learned (besides English )? I just read English and of course Geman books. Why do you read books in a foreign language? Do you just like the language or do you want to improve your skills? Greetings from Germany, Lanka
  21. I finished my Vampire Academy #4 book today. It's a great series. I didn't enjoy the first book at all but now I really like it. I think I'll start the Jeaniene Frost book I recently bought. It's called "Verlockung der Nacht" (#7 of the cat and bones series). Hope I'll enjoy it.
