  1. Sweet child o' Mine - Guns n Roses
  2. With Virginia on this, way too bitter for me.
  3. What a great honour for your dad, and how exciting!
  4. Bit of a shock - rain tonight! Been a dull day too.
  5. Finished another quick read - 3 Bedrooms, 1 Corpse by Charlaine Harris, the 3rd in her cosy crime series about former librarian Aurora Teagarden who's now training to be an estate agent, but is somewhat put off when her fellow agents start getting murdered. Naturally she tries to find out who the killer is, could her new boyfriend be a suspect? A fast-paced read, with a nice dry sense of humour, and a likeable heroine. 7.5/10
  6. I enjoyed that one last year.
  7. Kissing a Fool - George Michael
  8. Yes that's true it's lovely and bright, much nicer than wet and grey.
  9. The boating lake in the local park was frozen over this morning, and there was a much thicker frost than yesterday.
  10. Venus in Copper - Lindsey Davis
  11. I think I've got Diamond Dust somewhere, plus a few others, haven't read them though!
  12. I watch It Takes Two occasionally, it's a bit too frenetic and screechy sometimes, and feels very rushed, though I suppose they have top cram a lot in to a short programme, maybe not so much now that there aren't many couples left. I did enjoy the Peggy Spencer tribute though, and it was funny seeing the clips from the very first series of SCD - Len with a full head of dark hair!
  13. Yes my mum used to have a larder/pantry, and in the "old" days richer folk had an ice house, I can just remember our old pantry but we had a fridge as well. But of course we didn't have central heating like we have now, so the house wouldn't have been so warm.
  14. Pretty cold here too, quite a lot of icy windscreens!
  15. I love Bath, it must be even prettier at this time of year, have a nice time Shirley!
  16. (The) Shell Seekers by Rosamund Pilcher
  17. I love the Peter May Lewis trilogy, superbly written and a bit different to the usual crime books. And as Pontalba says ,the setting and landscape are just as important, with the island almost being a character in it's own right. Highly recommended.
  18. Meant to be the coldest night of the year so far tonight .
  19. We've never kept ketchup in the fridge - peanut butter yes as it can get very runny.
  20. In the fridge, as the kitchen can get very warm. I read that about tomatoes too, my own ones spend most of their time on the windowsill ripening up, and don't spend very long in the fridge, but we put shop bought ones in the fridge - doesn't seem to make much difference to the flavour either way.
  21. Fargo is the only Coen brothers film that I've actually been able to watch (and really enjoyed), I've barely got 20 minutes into any of their others. But yes I can recommend Fargo, very quirky.
  22. I've just gotta get a Message to you - Bee Gees
