      Summer Supporter Giveaway   08/31/2020

Going on a Summer Holiday (Sort Of...)     The summer giveaway for Patreon supporters is finally here and this time we're doing something a little bit different. I want supporters to tell me where you would go on holiday, if you could go anywhere. The winner will receive a bookish prize based on their answer!   Terms and conditions are as usual. Patreon supporters will be automatically entered into the giveaway and selected at random. As we're a little late this year the draw will be held on the second weekend of September. If you aren't currently a supporter but want to be involved in the giveaway you can sign up to support us here:   https://www.patreon.com/bookclubforum

Funny story & Joke Corner

Recommended Posts

A young man named Donald bought a horse from a farmer for $250.
The farmer agreed to deliver the horse the next day.
The next day, the farmer drove up to Donald's house and said, “Sorry son, but I have some bad news, the horse died.”
Donald replied, “Well, then just give me my money back.”
The farmer said, “Can’t do that. I went and spent it already.”
Donald said, “Ok, then, just bring me the dead horse.”
The farmer asked, “What ya gonna do with him?”
Donald said, “I’m going to raffle him off.”
The farmer said, “You can’t raffle off a dead horse!”
Donald said, “Sure I can, Watch me. I just won’t tell anybody he’s dead.”
A month Later, the farmer met up with Donald and asked, “What happened with that dead horse?”
Donald said, “I raffled him off. I sold 500 tickets at five dollars a piece and made a profit of $2495.”
The farmer said, “Didn’t anyone complain?”
Donald said, “Just the guy who won. So I gave him his five dollars back.”
Donald has since moved into the White House.

This is not a funny story or a joke but I didn't know where else to post this. :)

How many of you can see the circles. There are actually 16 circles if you stare at it long/hard enough. It is really weird.

No trick. The brain plays funny things with a person's mind. There are actually 16 circles there. if you keep staring at it you should see them. Hint, they are fairly large circles.

And no frickin' circles!

There most certainly are 16 circles. You need to concentrate a little harder by staring at it. :) Concentrate on every part of it and they will jump right out at you.

I will give y'all until Friday and then I will tell you where to look for them. They "ARE" there.

Yes, I can see them. You kind of have to let your eyes go out of focus like the magic eye pictures.

I can only see a few circles at a time, and it took a long time to see them as my peripheral vision! 😳

Hayley & Raven - See, I told you there were circles there. :P

Oooh I saw them! I can only see them if I stare at one of the vertical black lines.

To be fair, I think it would have been quite funny if you'd just made us all stare at the box for ages and there weren't ever any circles :giggle2:

Hmmmm, I think that Raven is still staring. :)

Actually, I had to stare at it for a long time before they "jumped out" at me.

Well we are in the joke corner

Speaking of which, I saw a book one today that made me laugh...

Why are books afraid of their sequels?

I finally saw them! I can see them if I am wearing my reading glasses, but there is not a hint of roundness when I am not!  :D

Me too, I could only see the circles through the blurry edges of my varifocal specs!
