We look to the old days of yore

And the old ways of doing each chore

With a mop in one hand

If I may, Muggle Not, I think your last line should rhyme with hand.

Example - in Limerick form:

A: What is /a limerick,/ Mother?

A: It's a form/ of verse,/ said brother

B: In which lines/ one and two

B: Rhyme with five/ when it's through

A: And three and four/ rhyme with/ each other.

Yes, you certainly may. I stepped into something that I am not very good at. :)

Please continue on.

An old man by the name of Magellan

Ate a diet of lobster and melon

Dyspepsia galore

Muggle your rhythm was perfect and it's very easy to make a mistake with which lines to rhyme ... we all do it! Don't let one little mistake put you off. It's a fun game

Oh yes Muggle, please don't give up! I only mentioned it to explain why I took what was the same line. I'm no expert myself having started the game at the same time as you. We need your input!

For she had a marvellous brain.

Now luna has sorted out the rhyme scheme for us, perhaps we can pay a bit more attention to the rhythm of a limerick , which is

Di dah/ diddy dah/ diddy dada

Di dah/ diddy dah/ diddy dada

Di dah/ diddy dah

Di dah/ diddy dah

Di dah/ diddy dah/ diddy dada

and lets  see if we can make up some that fit both rhyme and rhythm.

So, Hayley, over to you for the first line of our next Limerick
