      Late Autumn Supporter Giveaway   11/27/2020

I know that winter is well on the way, but I'm sneaking the autumn giveaway in here, right at the end of the season...     I thought this giveaway seemed particularly appropriate for this year: Dear Reader: The Comfort and Joy of Books by Cathy Rentzenbrink.  I'm sure some of you will have heard of this book. It came out in September and has had brilliant reviews. It's been described as a love letter to reading and I think all of us have truly appreciated 'the comfort and joy of books' this year.  It is also a really beautiful hardback. Please excuse my picture-taking skills, it's really hard to get a good picture of something that's shiny!   As always, patreon supporters will be automatically entered into the draw. If you're not a supporter but you'd like to join our patreon you can do so here:  bookclubforum.co.uk is creating a book community | Patreon

Hi!! Sorry for my absence. I've been feeling overwhelmed with news and social media the past few days, so I decided to take a break from my computer/laptop/phone, and read and take walks instead.

Is it possible to be a sparkling loser? I like the thought of that.

Perhaps I should start wearing my reading glasses more often.

You know what happened to Jill up the hill?
Jack gave her a shove and she took a big spill,
It gave roughneck Jack a whale of a thrill,
When Jill ended up in dirty pig swill!

Outstanding!

I knew that when discussing Jack

It would be Tempting to make him a quack

Even Jill would like to give him a smack

But their relationship it would  hurt since they lived together in a shack

You've clearly not heard the latest update,
As well as a tough, Jack's a skinflint cheapskate,
Now Jill's cleared out with a millionaire mate
With plans in the offing to soon emigrate.

Some may insinuate

That Jack is a reprobate

But truth be told

it is Jill who is bold

As she skips town with a millionaire mate

For a new playmate
