  1. I saw it a few days after it came out in an effort to avoid the huge crowds and I thought it was really good. I loved how they found a place for all the characters and they all worked together nicely when it came down to it. That being said it as a little predictable but I never really have high standards for marvel moves anyway.

Thank you all for the warm welcome! My top ten definitely varies. I am just getting out of the YA section and moving into Adult Fiction so right now my favorites consist of Harry Potter of course, the Hunger Games, and almost anything by John Green. I LOVED Looking For Alaska and Paper Towns. My most recent conquest was the Fifty Shades series by E.L. James and I've just started The Athena Project by Brad Thor, it was recommended by a friend. My eye tends to wander and I I've recently decided to spend some time reading the sequels of books that I have already read and I didn't even know that they had come out with a sequel.
  3. I have a nice and nephew in middle school and high school and the information I am getting from them is that these books are becoming so popular for the shock value alone in the schools. They are being confiscated for reading passages out loud at lunch and on recess. I saw on Good Reads that almost every single person on my friends list were reading them so that's why I chose them initially and the rating seemed so varied I thought I would decide for myself.
  4. I will check it out! Thanks!
  5. I saw that this book is being made into a movie sometime in 2013 so I was just curious if anyone had read it. I did a few years ago and I thought it was incredible. It went straight to the top of my favorite books list. Don't let the author fool you, this is no vampire/human love story.
  6. When I first heard of this book I was intrigued to read a very different, slightly dangers and off kilter love story than most. I'm always looking for something that sparks my interest and as I read it I was pleasantly surprised. The story is definitely blush worthy and erotic but I think that this story has a lot of levels and if you don't dwell on the erotic, I think it will be a lot easier to stomach. I found that as I read the second and third books I got used to the kind of sex that is the male protagonists preference/obsession and for those of you who have on read the first or head of the first it is by far the most erotic of the novels. As they get into the character development you start to understand it form both sides and get a really good picture of what they are dealing with. I am just a fan of doing whatever makes you happy as long as both parties consent then its just a lifestyle choice.
  7. I agree that the first books were a little on the boring or childish side but I think that once you get past the 4th book is where it really starts picking up. The content gets a lot more dark and the books take on a whole new night as far as I'm concerned. When I re-read the Harry Potter books I always either start at the 4th book or the 5th. I suggest giving it a second look!

Hello! I am new to this forum but definitely not new to books! I am sure this is a mutual feeling for pretty much everyone on this site but books are my passion! "Books are the quietest and most constant of friends; they are the most accessible and wisest of counselors, and the most patient of teachers."- Charles W. Eliot I love to read anything with a good story but give me a tall stately gentleman with a dark past and a audacious companion to go with him and I am utterly hooked. I'm also a sucker for good witty banter between characters you can see yourself getting along with if only you were that lucky. Yours, Kate
  9. I absolutely LOVED the books. I was surprised at the depth of story for a YA book, I hope that doesn't offend anyone. What I have learned to do when it comes to reading books that are movies or will be movies I try to think of them as two separate things. What is really comes down to is a generic story where the characters aren't gone into with much depth but a lot of pretty great action scenes (the movie), and a heartfelt novel where you are in the characters head and you feel like you know them as family (book). To me it seems like a completely different story.
