The Secret Life of Bees - I loved it. I think they did a good adaptation from the book.

I think I heard that she did a lot of her own stunts. I doubt she did the moving car one though, and to be honest a lot of the others seemed far too dangerous.

I'm impressed by your skill was it a very big mug, a very small book, or a combination of factors? I was reading in bed at the time and had the mug in one hand and the book in the other, and it just sort of fell into it It was a normal sized paperback, but I can't recall the size of the mug.

I once dropped a book in a mug of hot chocolate. There was a brown stain all over one corner - I was gutted!

I saw Salt on Saturday. I enjoyed it but no woman could live through all that she did! Clever idea though.

I've finished The Secret Intensity of Everyday Life by William Nicholson - an excellent 'slice of life' story. Now reading Blue Lightning, the final book in the Shetland quartet by Ann Cleeves.

I'm very excited about this. I love the books, and I love Jason Isaacs.

Yeah, brilliant! I love the bit where he throws his boss out of the restaurant and is pretending to do the gangster thing.

This week I have seen Inception at the cinema and loved it, and watched Doubt and Mickey Blue Eyes on DVD. Doubt is very good and really does leave you with a lot of doubt in your mind. I've seen Mickey Blue Eyes loads of times before, but it still makes me laugh.

I've now finished The Mother's Tale by Camilla Noli. It's certainly shocking, but I found it a riveting read. I'm now reading Grace Williams Says It Loud by Emma Henderson, which looks to be an intriguing read already.
