  1. I've got this book in my Amazon wish list - I'm going to have to get it at some point! I like Alison Weir novels - the history without the hard reading
  2. I absolutely loved this trilogy! I got them for Christmas a few years ago and read them twice in a fortnight - when I'd finished the trilogy I couldn't get it out of my head so read them again! I've read them 2 or 3 times since then. I found the Priestess of the White harder to get into, but I only had the first book when I first read it, and reading the three together I got into the story more. I can't wait for Trudi's new books - but I don't know whether the dates on her website are the Australia possible publishing dates or world - there's no sign of them on pre-order on Amazon yet
  3. I can't really recommend any other books than those already mentioned, but I just wanted to say that I've just re-read The Other Boleyn Girl and am really in the mood for some more books from this period - I'm going to have to find some of the ones on this list! Alison Weir's non-fiction books are very readable - I've found them the most enjoyable of all 'text book' type history books.
  4. I've finished my book, but no idea how to start the review!!! I'm going to have a look at the ones on the site and try and work out what I am doing
  5. Mine's just arrived. I got 'The Hunting of the Snark'. The actual story/poem is quite short but there is tons of introduction/preface type stuff at the beginning and bibliography and appendix at the end! I've definately got a better one than a lot of you though!
  6. Must admit - it doesn't do much for me
  7. Yes! It was Blood Hunt! I remember really enjoying it.
  8. I read a few of his from the library a few years ago - I can't remember which titles but I did enjoy them. I think it might have been Ian Rankin who wrote under a different name as well, although I may be getting confused with someone else. Does it ring any bells for anyone? I remember really enjoying the book, but can't remember the name of the author or the title of the book! I was pregnant at the time and I've had 2 more since then - no chance of remembering anything!!! Sorry for the ramble - hope it makes sense
  9. I always find it interesting when people have completely different opinions of the same books. A lot of people here have enjoyed Margaret Atwood's books. I've not read them but my husband was given one and he didn't enjoy it. What is it you don't like about the Harry Potter's?
  10. There's a lot of people on here who wouldn't agree with you!
  11. I've just signed up and I'm getting a book The Hunting Of The Snark Never heard of it but it sounds interesting! Are you sure you put your email in correctly. My email came straight away.
  12. I got this years ago and have read it several times. I thought I had all the books in the series but I can only find the first 3 so maybe I just got them from the library. I really enjoyed all the books - I look forward to hearing your thoughts.
  13. I've not seen the most recent film, but I was really disappointed with Goblet of Fire. I really enjoyed the first couple of films, but I think they've lost the plot since then. I'm not going to see the new one at the cinema, and I'm not sure I'm going to buy the DVD when it comes out. I'll watch it and see what I think.
  14. I always read something before I go to sleep - otherwise I can't! Over the last few years though I've been so tired I haven't been able to focus very well, so I've been re-reading all the books I know well. The same thing happened when I was doing exams - A-levels, Uni etc. I've never had a period where I've not been able to read anything but I have had to go back to really 'easy-to-read' books.
