  1. I have recently just finished reading The Rabbit Factory by Marshall Karp. This book is the first installment of the Lomax and Biggs series. The Rabbit Factory is gripping and extremely funny throughout. I read it every day on my commute to and from work on the bus. It never left my hands the entire journey. It surprises me however that not many people have heard of it, never mind read it, and that Marshall Karp has only wrote three books (all of them being the Lomax and Biggs series, therefore Rabbit Factory being his first and only book at the time of publishing). I was just curious if anyone has read it before and if so what did they think? If not, I highly recommend it. I picked it up for £1 from a charity shop and I didn't regret it.
  2. I recommend reading anything a second time because you will pick up things that you missed. But I ESPECIALLY recommend reading a King book twice because of the depth of his writing, you will most certainly find multiple things you've missed or have different views on characters the second time around.
  3. I would have to say one of my favorite undiscovered authors is one I have only recently discovered myself! I picked The Rabbit Factory by Marshall Karp up for £1 from a charity shop in my home town and I didn't expect much. How wrong I was. This crime novel is witty, gripping, tense and ultimately hilarious. It leaves me chuckling to myself on the bus on the commute to and from work most days of the week. For any of you who want a fast paced, funny paperback to read look into the Biggs and Lomax series by Marshall Karp, starting with Rabbit Factory and going on to a sequel named Bloodthirsty.
  4. I read book one and two a while ago. From what I remember they were great books, but I must admit I did rush them a bit (curse me, I know). But I am attempting to right my wrongs and I also plan to sit down and read the whole series myself!
  5. My girlfriend was going through a stage of 'readers block' as I like to call it when she hasn't read a large book in a while and she wants a smaller, easier to read book to ease her back into more strenuous reading. I offered her my copy of Clockwork by Phillip Pullman - it is about 90-100 pages long, illustrated and a lovely small story. Needless to say she devoured it in one night and she is now back into the flow of reading. Me, myself, never stopped.
  6. As you can tell by my username I love anything by Stephen King. I am only 20 years old but I have been wanting to read Stephen King novels from an early age. My dad owned a copy of The Stand and kept it on his bedside table, I would sneak a look at it but my mother would say it was an 'adult's' book. Eventually when I was about 15 I read it through once and I was hooked on King. In the last 5 years I have read almost everything he has wrote and I am terrified that he will stop writing and I will no longer have a favorite author to keep up to date with. Therefore I was thrilled when he announced Dr Sleep and also Joyland. I wait every year for a new King book to be released - 11.22.63 was great and I expect great things from the next two. King never disappoints!
