A terrifying True Life Thriller concerning the spread of the deadly ebola virus.
A virus so intent on destruction it will wipe out 90% of anything it comes into contact with, so you can imagine the terror that swept the US when it infected a monkey house 10 miles from the White House.

The thing that captivated me with this book was that it was a true story and being a microbiologist the story was also very topical, I read it at the time that the spread of smallpox was a threat as a biological weapon.

A very compelling story, that chills you to the core

The actual events it describes occured between 1967 and 1993 and the narrative is based on interviews and facts.

I have read this book so many times and I am still facinated every time I read it, the story is quite medical but its easy to follow the situations and events, I think you would understand the true horror behind the scenes if you are familiar with Ebola and biological sciences but dont let that put you off what I would recommend as a great read.

I will have to pick that one up. I have followed ebola through fiction but know enough micro-biology to know its a dreadfully scary critter.

Nice plug Louise :)
