Nicci French - The Safe House

One heck of a thriller - loved every minute of it. Had not read NF for a while, and felt rather like tasting some of mum's cooking, when you have not visited for a while and was lucky enough to drop in when she was making your long ago favorite, which you can never match. The story is fast paced, and well thought out, although variations of it have been written before. The unconventional ending make it that bit more plausible and interesting. Would recommend to thriller lovers.

You know I was never interested in reading her books before, until I found out that she was a them LOL.

Now I have looked up their books and found a few that I think I would enjoy, its funny, but its not the first time I have avoided someones books for no given reason :?

Ok Inanna. Perhaps you have started to realise how curious I am. I always want to know why. Can you explain to me why it makes a difference to you wheter it is a she, or a them? :lol: :? :lol: :? :?

I always thought that Nicc French was just another run of the mill writer you know, and I wasn't in a hurry to try her books.
Then when I was scrolling through Amazon I was reading up on one of 'her' books when I discovered that she was a they, naturally this piqued my curiousity and so I'd thought I'd try their books.
I've always liked reading books written by 2 people as it interests me to see if the books are well meshed together :mrgreen:

Its not so much as a huge difference that she is a they, but it made me more curious to try, and when I'm curious I just have to find things out for myself, which is why I got one of her books! :D

Sorry I'm a bit confused - why does it say in her books under 'About Author' that she is a journalist and lives in Suffolk - if it is actually more than 1 person?

LOL - I know, but I'm one of those folks who prefers not to know anything about it when I start - I ejoy it more that way. I'll admit I only read reviews AFTER I've read the book, unless I have no plans at all to read it. Occasionally, it'll be the other way around, but I try not too.

That's a bit weird - if they openly admit to being two people by having a website why do they print in their books that Nicci french is a she - journalist and lives in Suffolk. A bit mad if you ask me.

Good point Crispy. Why do you think they write under one name? I don't think it would put me off if a book is written by two people.
