I love it too (unfortunately!). It is esp delicious in summer, bought when till hot, with fresh tomatoes smeared on top , olive oil, salt and pepper, near the sea! It is one of my sins! Only drawback is you have to buy it fresh everyday, as it does not keep.

I love lots of different things, depending on my mood. I adore a good, hot curry, or a spicy, fruity Chinese, I also love tangy Italian sauces. Another favourite of mine is Turkish food - you can't beat borek followed by kofte, finished with baklava! And my chillis are to die for.

There is a little restaurant in the Best Western Inn in Winslow, Arizona that serves up the best pork chops I've ever had.
It does not have options (fries, baked potato, mashed) it has to be mashed and comes with apple sauce.
I always order it with some breaded deep-fried mushrooms.

Nothing against Winslow, I just drive through this town twice a year - but it's a small dreary town; the nearest movie theater is 60 miles away in Flagstaff.

Yet, the pork chops are to die for! Since then, I've tried cooking pork chops myself (fair to middlin') and ordered the same in some fine restaurants in Los Angeles ... nothing compares to this bitty little restaurant tucked into a motel in a small city in the middle of Arizona, where the waitress calls you darlin' and the coffee cup is never empty.

I try not to call it 'fat', as in "I'm craving some fat right now."

But a nice sharp cheddar, a decent chunk, to bite into and just let it slowly melt in my mouth while I'm reading a juicy story is a rare delight.

Melt it down, any kind of cheese, and I'll dip chips, make nachos, call it a fondue if I must - just give it to me!

They have these "cheese balls" invented for semi-pretentious parties to go with wine - forgive me if I buy one, just for myself. Slaver it on a cracker with an "anything" chaser; be it wine, beer or coca-cola - it's a sin to indulge so deeply that I feel like the ultimate hedonist with the wonderful taste of brilliant cheese serving me in slavish fashion - I am lord.

I spew "fie" on those little cheese knives, give me a tool that a man can work with!

I'm with you on this one Wrath! I LOVE all cheese. I would eat it with everything if i could!!!! My Dad went on a day trip to France on Friday and bought me lots of cheese home so that's all i ate all weekend - bliss!!! :D

Believe it or not, my Dad got nostalgic about eating goat cheese when he was on a Norwegian Tanker back in the '50s .... and he sent me some in the mail!

I'll put blue cheese mixed in the mix with my wonderful stuffed mushrooms, goat cheese on my pizza and pardon me if you will: the American classic -- a slice of hot apple pie with a side of cheddar cheese. Gadzooks!

I adore cheese - the stronger the better! I usually use it as a quick fix if I come home from work hungry - just a lump or two :mrgreen:

It can be a similar texture but I think has a much nicer flavour. They do vary enormously so it's great to trial a few!

We found these gems in a farmers market, but I'm sure that a specialist deli may have some. Perhaps an on-line source......
Waitrose may have some ?? We don't have one near us but they do stock unusual things

Cornish Yarg or Dorset Blue Vinny!
Both of these are sometimes available at Tesco's. (i use our local farmers market if I can for the blue vinny) The Cornish Yarg is a hard cheese wrapped in nettles. Because they are both made in small quantities you really have to grab them when you spot them.

Rick Stein has a lovely recipe for the Blue Vinny which I have used with good success - it's DH's favourite!

I've never tried it, especially since that would be illegal right now, but I hate the smell of beer! Ick! --Not that I would stop a loved one from having a little, though I've never had that problem; it's the copious amounts of it at sports games and some other public events that make me dizzy.

For a drink I have had, I can't drink much Mountain Dew. Mountain Dew Code Red is nice because it tastes like fruit punch, but I can feel my teeth becoming more disgusting when I drink what my cousin calls "weasel pee."
