Hi,
This is the first forum I have ever joined. My husband recommended I join a forum because I just finished two great series and now I am feeling a little down and not sure what to read next. I am hoping someone could give me some good suggestions.
This summer I read the Twilight Series (Stephenie Meyers) and Dark Hunter Series (Sherrilyn Kneyon). Although these are kind of fantasy/romance I am open to just about anything.
Thanks
Tambo

Welcome to the forum molly. (my daughter's name is Molly, so this post caught my eye.)
I haven't reed any of them myself, but I'm sure someone who has can help you out by pointing you in the direction of similar things that you may enjoy.

Hmmm, you enjoyed the Twighlight series which is about a vampire (and I think the Dark Hunter series is too), so you may enjoy Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles. There are 10 in that series, so it should keep you occupied for a little while:
1. Interview with the Vampire (http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/r/anne-rice/interview-with-vampire.htm) (1976 (http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/years/1976.htm))
2. The Vampire Lestat (http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/r/anne-rice/vampire-lestat.htm) (1985 (http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/years/1985.htm))
3. The Queen of the Damned (http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/r/anne-rice/queen-of-damned.htm) (1988 (http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/years/1988.htm))
4. The Tale of the Body Thief (http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/r/anne-rice/tale-of-body-thief.htm) (1992 (http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/years/1992.htm))
5. Memnoch the Devil (http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/r/anne-rice/memnoch-devil.htm) (1995 (http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/years/1995.htm))
6. The Vampire Armand (http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/r/anne-rice/vampire-armand.htm) (1998 (http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/years/1998.htm))
7. Merrick (http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/r/anne-rice/merrick.htm) (2000 (http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/years/2000.htm))
8. Blood and Gold (http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/r/anne-rice/blood-and-gold.htm) (2001 (http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/years/2001.htm))
9. Blackwood Farm (http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/r/anne-rice/blackwood-farm.htm) (2002 (http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/years/2002.htm))
10. Blood Canticle (http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/r/anne-rice/blood-canticle.htm) (2003 (http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/years/2003.htm))
Other vampire related books to try (if you fancy them) are Dracula by Bram Stoker and Carmilla by J Sheridan LeFanu - they're both classic, Gothic novels and are excellent (I much prefer them to Anne Rice, but I just never really got into her style, although I read the first 5 in her series).
Other authors you might like to try are:
Kelley Armstrong (especially her Women of the Otherworld series - 9 books with another 2 on the way)
Kim Harrison (try the Rachel Morgan series - 6 books with another on the way)
Laurell K Hamilton (Anita Blake series - 16 books!!!)
Charlaine Harris (especially her Southern Vampire / Sookie Stackhouse series - 8 books with another on the way)
MaryJanice Davidson (check out the Queen Betsy series - 7 books with another on the way)

Kell, you forgot Raven Hart (http://ravenhartbooks.com/) from your vampire list. :)

Thank you for that list! I had forgotten all about the Ann Rice books. Quite a few years back I read up to Tale of the Body Theif and I loved them. I may pick up there. Was I ever surprised to see Interview with a Vampire was published in 1976!
The Dark Hunter Series are about Vampire slayers and also contains a lot of Greek Mythology. The series was a real surprise to me. I picked up the first book without having heard of the series. They were very great. The newest book Acheron just came out a couple of weeks ago and I believe another one is being released in November.
Thanks again!

I definitely second the recommendation for Charlaine Harris' Sookie Stackhouse books - they are great!

Vamp books or any good series. I like the fantasy/Romance type books. Lately I have also enjoyed Emily Griffin, Jodi Picoult, Alice Sebold etc. So I am really open to anything.
This forum has been great - I have read all kinds of suggestions for good books. I am going to spend some time in the book store today and pick up something new!
