Author: Ben Elton
Book: Dead Famous
ISBN: 0-552-99945-8

The blurb goes : One house, ten contestants, thirty cameras, forty microphones, one murder.....and no evidence.

I have recently discovered Ben Elton ('Blast From The Past' is the first of his books I read), and I am quite pleased with myself! Dead Famous has a rather unusual story for a thriller - it is set in a 'Big Brother' type house, and explores the modern, 'through the looking glass' phenomenon that has gripped the world.

A whodunnit that keeps you turning the pages, it had me quite confused till the last chapter, featuring a really clever plot. Humourous at times, tension filled at others, but always interesting, I would definately recommend this book.

I loved Dead Famous.

If you enjoyed that one, you should also enjoy Chart Throb (based on the premise of X Factor and similar shows) and Past Mortem (a crime for the Friends Reunited age!).

Also worth a look (especially if you enjoy dystopian futures) are Blind Faith and This Other Eden - both very good too!

I really like Ben Elton. Dead Famous is one of my favourites of his, and I would also second Kell's recommendation for Chart Throb - I read it a couple of months ago, and really enjoyed it.
