Looking for a book...

Has anyone ever heard of a book called The Diddycoy? It was about a young girl who came from a Diddycoy family.
A teacher read some of it to us at lower school and I remember really liking it. I’ve searched and searched for it and can’t find it. It may not even be called that. Possibly Irish in origin.
Wish I could give more detials on it.

I found "The Diddakoi" by Rumer Godden, written in 1972. It's available on Amazon. :)

I've never read the book, but I do remember watching a TV adaptation, possibly in the 70s or early 80s, which I really enjoyed.

Yes i have heard about that book. Its quite interesting. The girl's character was portrayed well. I wish if I can get books like that. The story marks an impression. Great work done by the author.
