I've been looking for a good book for months! but none seem to really spark my interest. There's this beautiful 2nd hand book shop in the town I live in (it looks like a proper old fashioned library with stone walls and floor) and I spent hours in there before only to find a book which depressed me to tears! The sort of things I am interested in are mainly fantasy (magic etc) and books which are quite dramatic. I enjoyed one of Ian McEwan's books also and am currently attempting to read 'warlock' by Wilbur Smith. Does anyone have any recommendations for a picky reader?
thanks!

It really depends on what kind of books you're into and what mood you're in. You might like to try one of the reading circle books, or check any of the genre sections that pique your interest. Failing that, possibly the best place on here to get recommendations is to check out member book logs - many of us rate the books we're reading as well as listing them, and sometimes there are reviews too - I'm sre you'll soon spot something there that grabs your attention. :) :readingtwo:

Like Kell says, it depends on what kind of books you are into. What is your current favourite book and what authors do you like?

I am currently reading Labyinth, by Kate Mosse, (refer to Reading Circle Thread for further info) and I am enjoying it. It is a mixture of magic, mystery, love, hate, war, witch story set in two different times, the present(2005) and the past (1200s).

I just finished Great Expectations by Charles Dickens. It is a gripping novel which will keep you guessing till the end. I think you will like it.
