Hello there!
I read a book back in 2002 on my gap year - picked it up in a book exchange in Thailand somewhere. It was in English and paperback, don't know when it was published.
Anyway, it was about a man who ends up going on a journey based on fate - he learns from someone to look out for the signs life throws at you all the time... Things like if someone you've never met looks familiar you should listen to them - there might be some deeper meaning to what they say. And other signs too.
Anyway, bits I remember are that at one point he goes and stays with some monks for a while, and they chew their food very slowly, and at another point he ends up in an ancient, virgin forest somewhere.
I can't remember the point of his journey or where it leads, but I remember when I read it it affected me a lot and I found it quite inspiring.
I know the details are sketchy but the general themes are fate, everything happening for a reason and looking out for signs from the universe to guide you (sounds a bit wacky now, I know!). If you've read it you should remember it from what I wrote above. Really annoying but I can't think of anything else to describe about it.
Any help from you lovely people would be GRAND!
I'll keep doing my google searches too but so far - useless.
Thanks,
Tudes x
