Our board membership is ever increasing, which is fantastic news for us, and just shows what a great place this is. This, in turn, has led to an increase in the number of members for whom English isn't their first language.

Because of this, we feel it is necessary to start enforcing the rule that states:

Please do not write your whole post in CAPS, which is considered to be shouting, avoid the use of ‘text speak’ and do not increase the font size of your whole post. These can all make your post hard to read.

Could we please ask members to use correct punctuation when posting, including capital letters in titles. This simply makes things a little easier for others to read.

We are not proposing to get 'heavy' about this, and we do realise that some people may have slight difficulties with their punctuation and grammar (and none of us claim to be perfect), so please do not panic but if members could please try to use capital letters for book titles, authors, the personal pronoun (I) etc, both in the thread titles and in their posts, then that will make the board easier to read and also look a bit tidier.

We trust you will understand why we have decided to enforce this and will try to go along with it, because, with the amount of members we have on here, it is vitally important that posts are easy to read.

If necessary, the Mod Squad will edit posts where they feel necessary.

Thank you for your co-operation in this matter. :)

There have been quite a few new members lately and also an increase in the use of "text speak", so I thought it a good time to remind members of one of the sections in the rules and guidelines which states:

Content of posts:
Please do not write your whole post in CAPS, which is considered to be shouting, avoid the use of ‘text speak’ and do not increase the font size of your whole post. These can all make your post hard to read.

Could we please ask members to use correct punctuation when posting, including capital letters in titles. This simply makes things a little easier for others to read.

Please bear in mind that English is not the first language of all our members and text speak can not only be more difficult to read and decipher, but also very frustrating, even for those whose first language IS English.

Note that where text-speak is spotted, the Mod Squad will quietly edit the post into "proper English", but please do try to do this yourselves.

Thanks.

Just a gentle reminder that author names, book titles, place names etc should start with a capital letter. If members could try to do this then we would be grateful as it makes the place look tidier, and we'd prefer not to have to edit if possible.

Thanks. :)
