Sometimes, the most interesting and fun foods are the ones we eat as snacks or appetizers. What interesting or just plain delicious snack have you had today?
I just had an cup of Pomegranate/Acai Berry yogurt. It was unbelievably delicious!!:smile2:

These days I find myself nibbling on a lot of crystalised ginger in an attempt to stave off morning sickness. I love ginger anyway, but I'm starting to get a bit sick of it already!
Also dry crackers - Carrs Water Biscuits or Cornish Wafers are favourites at the moment - again, it's anti-morning sickness stuff.

Dried bananas are great for my sweet tooth - Tesco's are good - beware a lot of brands with added fat!

Do you have a machine Nici?

No I don't Judy. I do it in a saucepan with a lid and a tiny drizzle of oil.

Warm pitta bread with humous or taramasalata goes down well in my house.

Pistachios and cashews are my favourite. :D I also like yoghurt, and dried fruit, and cereal bars (apple and sultana are delicious).

I don't very often eat these, but my favourites would be honey roasted peanuts, roasted cashew nuts and dried apricots. Once I start eating them I can't stop
(angerball, just noticed you and Muggles are reading the same book - you'll have to compare notes)

Peanuts! Peanuts! Peanuts!
I adore peanuts, but aparently they should be avoided during pregnancy because they can cause an allergy in the little'un. How nuts is that? (Sorry, I couldn't resist a small and terrible pun there!). I'm going to have to ask the midwife if that extends to ALL nuts or just peanuts, because I'm kind of missing cashews and almonds right now too...

Kell, I think that is only if you have an allergy in your family, as it prevents the baby from getting the allergy.
This thread is so good for a heavily pregnant woman with a toddler. I usually snack on fruit or crackers, or maybe toast since being very pregnant, but I am just so very hungry with having both children and have been struggling to think of healthy snacks that are substantial enough to get me through the morning, or afternoon with the children, but not too much. Keep the ideas flowing. I need them..(and so will Kell).

Today I've snacked on potato chips, Krispy Kreme donuts, chocolate, white chedder cheese puffs, and 3 diet cokes. It's that "time of the month".... No wonder I've been putting on weight.

I'm really into twiglets at the moment and I have a bag of them every day at work. I do snack a lot as I have problems regulating my blood sugar and need to eat little and often. My snacks of choice tend to be fruit and yogurt, but today I have been naughty and had white chocolate raisins :D. Oh and pistachio nuts. I had some of those today too. I luv 'em.

I love chips and chocolate but have been quite healthy at work lately. I usually have a banana for morning tea, but this week I've switched to yummy red apples.

I was just wondering: do you drink much tea or coffee and is it usually caffeinated?

I have 5ish cups of tea a day, only have coffee when I don't have a headache. Yeah it is caffeine. I try and drink loads of water too

I think if I could live on hummus with dippable things like carrots/crackers I would, lol. I found an excellent recipe for hummus online and now that I can make my own I'm a maniac about it, lol.
I also just made a roasted eggplant/red pepper spread recipe I saw on the Barefoot Contessa show and it turned out really well.
Other than that I'll have popcorn or any snacky things I can find at Trader Joe's, which is a really good grocery store chain out of California and is really reasonably priced.
I'm also a coffee junky, but that's not really a snack I suppose, lol.

I LOVE Trader Joe's! I look forward to their Fearless Flyer and am so happy when it comes in the mail. There's one just down the street from me and I'm going to be sad to leave it when we move next week!

No TJ's where you are moving to Echo? We just have 2 here in MN but they are really catching on and I think they have plans to build more. I LOVE their peanut butter pretzels and orange chicken, mmmm. I also get gluten-free bread there which is great - I think it's called Ezekial bread.

Well, I just looked up their locations, and there's one across the bridge from us, so it would be about 15 minutes away. Close enough for me!!

I've not tried Oreos yet, I've generally not got a sweet tooth, but I guess others in the house will eat them if I don't!
