1)Recently,I've been getting error messages telling me I'm not allowed to post. I find I have to log back in and start again, it seems to happen if it's a long post [for me, that is I don't like writing great essays:tong:]
It's as if I've been timed out.
2)I can't use all the smileys anymore, they just don't appear when I click on any of the 'extra' ones.
3)I have to keep logging back in, if I clicked on my bookmark I used to be automatically logged in.
4)If I take my time reading posts, I get logged out.
Is it me?

Wicci, everything seems fine for me, so it doesn't appear to be a general board thing. With all the logging out issues, do you select the 'Remember Me' box when you first log in? I'm sure that that's been discussed before, and has helped some people.
If you already do, or it doesn't help, maybe try clearing all your cookies etc, and even check it out on a different browser.
With the smilies, I'm afraid I have no idea. I've just tried, and it seems fine.. again, maybe your browser? Which do you use.. and if anyone else is having smilie problems, which do you use?

I do select 'remember me' it doesn't happen all the time, just often enough to frustrate, like this morning.
I use IE as I've always done.
The only new thing is my NTL netguard was updated and became Virgin PC guard. With that I've lost some services I had unless I fancy upgrading for a small fee :(
I have a nagging feeling that's it but was just hoping it wasn't.

It could be the privacy manager, as it may be affecting your cookies.
I use firefox.. I'll go see if the smilies work ok for me in IE in a moment.
ETA: I've been to IE, and tried all combinations, and the smilies work ok. Could it be the Virgin pop up blocker causing trouble.. can you 'allow' certain sites?

I think I lost my smilies once, a while ago, but they came back, and not so long ago I too had a couple of instances where I was told I couldn't post or view things I should have been able to, but it seemed to sort itself out.
I even saw a thread in the Gen Book section that was for premium members only, though I didn't realise until I clicked on the new post button, and it had disappeared by the time I went back.

Wicci - there are problems with NTL / Virgin. Like you we've had a tonne of problems over weeks. The Virgin engineer (excuse the phrse!!) gave us a new box yesterday. Up until then the net kept crashing and we were rebooting several times an hour and the picture on the tele kept freezing everytime we changed web pages - so it was hell when I was on here
I know that this isn't your problem but there are difficulties during the switchover. New boxes will be delivered in March / April. Oh and if you need an engineer out Virgin are unable to supply within 24hrs like NTL did. We had to wait nearly 3 weeks as they have far fewer men :irked:

My sister's had a lot of problems too, mainly with her phone. I find the pc guard slower than netguard was as well.
