http://www.oxfam.org.uk/shop/Browse.aspx?catalog=HighStDonated&category=Books is the general link. Delivery is a little high if only buying one book.

It's good to know about these things. I agree, that Oxfam is not as cheap as some of the other charities, but it's another option. Good one P_G :)

Eeeeh P_G (tips?) :irked:. Amazon helps people too, like THIS place for starters. :yahoo::doowapstart::an8: I've thing about manky books, they don't look well on ANY bookshelf and bent covers never mind pages too :censored: do NOT get me started on.....

'Sides I do like to buy NEW books either paperback or hardback.....Nothing like opening either one and getting the rush of that fresh book smell on every page.

Fresh book smell? Where on earth do you buy your books?

I agree that amazon is not 'rubbish'.. I buy many of my books from there. As for Oxfam postage, it's expensive if you're buying one, but it is per order, so if you can find a few at the same time, it's not too bad.

I agree fireball. New unread books do have a particular smell that I enjoy!

Maureen, :) thank you. I'm glad that I'm not alone in that, nothing against Oxfam, are their like, they at time do a thankless job but if I were an old age pensioner or what have you, you'd think carfully about pricing for those less fortunate as themselfs.

I was in Oxfam today and every book I picked up was £2.99. Thought that was just a bit steep. Especially when I was looking for 'pink' related covers etc to send on for a special sponsored release on Bookcrossing. Even kids books were £1.99!

It's a shame some of these charity shops don't think more carefully about their pricing. There is a Charity bookshop near me that prices much more reasonably, I managed to pick up a well worn copy of a Anthony Price book for 50p. Lucky actually as I didn't enjoy it all that much:roll:
