***Please note this is my own review****
In this novel ian rankin does his work in well crafting together the words of the final book about John rebus the beloved policeman.
it gets you hooked into the story and that is what I like about Rankin's work.
it's different from his previous works but is just as good I would give it a look like I do with the other novels.
I would yes recommend it.
I would give Ian rankin a thumbs up.
it's the last book in the series of the "Rebus" novels" that's what it was meant to be.

I was looking at this on Amazon the other day. I have no idea what Ian Rankin is like or writes about though so I don't know what I will think.
You mentioned it was one of a series about a policeman. Do you recommend reading other books before this one then?

It's not his "Last book" it's the last book in the series of the policeman John rebus.
Perhaps she just mean the last book he wrote?
I've read a couple of Ian Rankin's Rebus books and have enjoyed them but I haven't read one for a long time, so perhaps I'll pick one up again.

I too meant the last in th Rebus storiesyep that's correct!
it's not that we won't see anymore books from ian rankin it's just that he's not writing anymore rebus novels it's different books this time.
What kind of books, we all will have to wait and see what he has under his sleeves but for the moment it's goodbye rebus and hello to the new characters that Ian rankin will write in the near future.

I've yet to buy this. I've bought and read all of the others. From Rankin's interviews it doesn't sound like the end for Rebus. I'm not sure I'd be keen on a Siobhan series. She doesn't drink or smoke to excess.
