Unread posts

Quite a few times now, I've read all the new posts, looked at a few other websites, and then when I come back it says they're all unread again. If I look at a post and then go back to the index again, it says the right posts are unread.

It's not exactly gone wrong, it's just annoying, and I was wondering if anyone else was having this problem or if there's a way round it?

Are you using your back button to return after you've looked at other sites? If so, you're probably returning to the original index page you looked at. Make sense?

i find this sometimes happens to me its when i read post but still says it unread.

Like the talking one that can be about 5 pages long and if i go to the last page and read them but i don't go back to the first unread post. Then it comes up with unread posts.

I hope that makes sense.

That happens to me too (and everyone else, I assume). So say you've been away for a week and you come back to a thread with 8 pages. If you click on the 'thingy' that tells you there are new posts it takes you to the first unread posts which are on page 4 - if you don't then click on pages 5, 6, 7 and 8 it still shows unread posts if you go away and come back later.

No. :mrgreen:It's when I go on to the forum, and I always look at how many unread posts there are (not sure why...:irked:I'm weird. I do all sorts of random things without knowing why...) so then I read all the posts, and it says 0 unread posts, then I look at something else, then when I come back just like 10 mins later, it says the same amount of unread posts again.

Then I go on one of the posts, and when I get back to the index it says the right amount of posts

But that does happen to me as well. It's coz you haven't actually read them all :)

It's working fine for me, so I'm assuming it's something your end, rather than the forum.

I think Michelle's right and it's your cookies. Next time it happens before clicking anywhere on the board, refresh your screen and see if that clears it.

I don't use the read unread posts thingy at the top! Try just working your way down the page clicking within each subject and select the last page of each thread. That way the unread posts just tumble down. Try and it might work
