Survival tips for times of stress:

1. Take deep breaths
2. Count to ten
3. Eat chocolate

Whenever the four members of The Chocolate Lovers’ Club call an emergency meeting there’s barely time to count to ten before one of them gives in to chocolate...

This is the follow up to The Chocolate Lovers' Club (http://bookclubforum.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=2695), one of my favourite books this year. As I've said before, when I enjoy a book, then pick up a sequel, it's always scary.. will it live up to my expectations?

Thankfully, the answer for this book is a resounding yes.. catching up with the characters was like bumping into old friends. Their stories are all picked up where left off, and their friendships are as heart-warming as always.. if not more so.

There are some very funny moments in this book, plus some that make you pause for breath. A great follow up.. if you enjoy chick lit, the two books together are a 'must read'.

Well these two books sound like ones for me. Must be added at once to my Wish List.

Thanks Michelle:D

I thought The Chocolate Lovers' Club was Carole's best book, so I will definitely be reading the follow up to it at some point.

I really enjoyed this book, I thought it was a lot of fun, a very funny and intelligent book as well. The characters are brilliant, you will want to be a member of the club - believe me!

I've read Club but not Diet, which I got from the library and couldn't finish so I took it back. Maybe I'll go back to it at a later date. In Club, it bothered me that
Jacob turned out to be the bloke Lucy's friend was hiring - you know all about my pet hate in books now ;)
but apart from that I enjoyed it. A book? About chocolate? Hell yeah!

Perhaps I was put off by a book with 'diet' in the title? I think in the end I had too many books on my library card and just couldnt' read them all in time but I can see me going back to this one and giving it another go once I've shrunk Mount TBR a wee bit further.

Prospero - that was the one part of Club that I "tutted" over as I'd seen it coming a mile off, but, like you, I enjoyed the book a whole lot overall - it was some nice, light frippery and exactly what I needed to get me back into reading again. And yes, anything to do with eating lots of delicious chocs is definitely a thumbs-up kinda thing in my books!
