This might be a silly question but can anyone tell me how do you quote a previous message other than the last one in the thread in your reply?

Use the Quote (middle with orange speech bubbles) button.

At the bottom right hand corner of each post there is a "quote" button. If you want to quote from a single post, click this button and the whole post will be put into your own. however, if it's a long post, please delete all but the bit that's appropriate to your reply, otherwise you can end up with a post that is almost all quote and only one or two lines in response and it clutters up the board.
It you want to quote more than one post, click on the little button in between the quote and the quick reply buttons (it looks like "+). Once you've clicked that button on all the posts you want to quote, click on the reply button and all the posts will be quoted in yours. Again, snipping out the bits not directly relevant to your reply is a good idea.
Hope that helps! :D
ETA: Looks like Mau and I were on at the same time there - LOL!

It's not silly if you don't know the answer. :)
