Can anybody tell me please what a Buddy List does please? Thanks!

I think (not 100% sure on the technical side) that you add the names of your friends on there and it lets you know which of them is online on the forum. I think it is aimed at massive forums where not everyone knows each other. Much less friendlier than here ;)

Feel free to correct me if I'm wong as I've never actually used it.

Yeah, and you can decide only to recieve PMs from your buddys and stuff like that.

Similarly, there's ignore lists, so you can decide not to recieve PMs from people.:)
