Forum Speed

I have always found this forum slow to load but today is even worse than normal. It's taking around a minute for each page to load. :irked: Is anybody else having this problem?

Yep I am. Like you, it is taking about 30 seconds - a minute for each page to load.

I thought it was just me but obviously not!

Yes, I am too. Generally, it varies in speed for me but today is exceptionally slow.

Perhaps VBulletin are doing some maintenance or similar? Or Michelle has been contacted by our employers to stop some of us being distracted by the forum! :lol:

I've always noticed how slow the board is, but for me it's fine right now. No slower than normal. But sometimes, I just have to shut it down and wait about an hour before it will work. But it's worth it! :)

Strangely enough, it's quicker than usual here at work!

The trouble with forums is that they do get alot of bandwidth use, which may slow it down. I think one way round that would be a dedicated server.. but there's no way I can afford that!

I think it may be VBulletin doing some general work - all the sites I usually gone on have slow days like this (AOL especially).

Nope.. VB just provide the software, which I then put onto a server. I have contacted Coop, the wonderful guy who helps out with the techie stuff, to check there's not a problem with the server at all.. but as I say, it's behaving well for me at work, whereas it's often slow here.

I might try taking out the advert at the top, see if that has any effect.
