Lost returned in the US/Canada on Wednesday, and the wonderful Sky are bringing it to the UK this Sunday!! :yahoo:
(Now I don't have the hassle of trying to get hold of it, because I only have to wait a few days, instead of months! )
If you're in the US, and posting soon after the show, please use the spoiler tag if you want to discuss it at all.

I'm having trouble too - the first time I tried it went straight to 100% without actually downloading anything! Struggling to find peers at the moment

Actually, I don't know why I'm bothering - I'll be at my parents house on Sunday and they have Sky 1!
I've stopped the download - it's making my internet connection go all weird

I have to confess I am not a fan of Lost but my best friend is completely addicted to it. She gets really cross with me for not watching it. I'm going to come in here and read what's going on so at least I'll know what she's talking about!
Gyre
9th February 2007, 18:46
Don't worry Trecool, we will keep you informed! :D

10th February 2007, 13:34
I don't have Sky, so my colleague has very kindly been recording it for me. She's away this weekend and I've been on leave, so I hope she remembered to set it to record! (Especially as I gather that Sawyer is in the episode quite a bit - mmmn, Saywer...)

My Mum's not been watching this series so I won't get to watch it on Saturday. Fortunately I did manage to download the torrent so will be able to catch it when I get home on Monday

Hmm.. that was a strange episode (7 - the Juliette one). It's now becoming apparent that one or more companies have brought together various people.. my guess is that the island causes fertility problems, and they wanted Juliette to help.
But, the thing I struggle with is why are The Others so aggressive.. putting people in cages, beating them up, brainwashing, shooting..??!!
I'malso a little fed up of The Others, and the other island.. I want to get back to the rest of the losties!
Gyre
14th February 2007, 17:07
You and me both Michelle, I am finding 'The Others' annoying and frankly worrying, maybe they just saw Sawyer and Kate as a experiment under cage circumstances, what would happen?
I think you are right about the collective of people especially when it turned out that Alex is Henry Gale (aka Ben's) daughter, is Alex the french woman's daughter as well? I can never remember her name.
Michelle
14th February 2007, 17:25
I don't think we need spoilers once it's been aired in the UK :smile2:
Danielle's daughter was called Alex, and she was snatched as a baby... so it's probably her, and she's not Ben's daughter at all.
Gyre
14th February 2007, 22:44
Sorry about the spoilers and thanks for letting me know about Ben x

15th February 2007, 09:35
It's always worth playing safe with spoilers,so no problem. :)
The producers have hinted that we'll find out what happened to Locke very soon within this series, so I'm looking forward to that!

I would love to know more about Locke as well, he is just a great character..

Having just caught up with the Desmond episode, I have to say that that was one of the most confusing episodes I've seen fora while! But, I'm still hooked! LOL
Basically.. was he really time travelling, or was it all a dream / hallucination whilst knocked out when the hatch imploded? And if the latter.. what happened to his clothes?!!
:10_confused:

22nd February 2007, 16:23
I'm still hooked on this but every episode brings my brain closer to spontaneaus combustion.
Oh, and how bad was 'London'?? The walking past famous landmarks, big red phone boxes (how long since I saw one of those??) and the patrolling policeman. I had to laugh, it was all so exaggerated. It did stop my brain from dribbling out of my ears for a while as I stopped trying to figre out what was going on.

I am sooooo enjoying Lost. It has to be one of the best programmes on TV. They have got some great writers working for them - all the twists and turns which keep happening! Just as you think you have worked it out something else changes!

Yep I'm still watching and I have to say it is getting weirder and weirder every time i watch it! Still enjoying it though!
i've loved all the last few episodes and really feel it's improved just lately. much less jack-oriented which can only be a good thing
and the nikki and paolo thing was great - seeing the early days over again getting to see sboone, shannon and artz all over too
and yes, it was creepy ...

We've just watched episode 16 so I think we've caught up for this week.
Great stuff, I'm really enjoying the direction of the show at the moment. And I'm glad to see the back of Locke (or have we????) for a bit.
I am warming to Juliette though, I love the is she/isn't she plot lines

Is no one shocked at the last episode?!! "They found the plane. There were no survivors." What??!!

I know! :10_confused:
Stranger and stranger...
Is no one shocked at the last episode?!! "They found the plane. There were no survivors." What??!!
i'm of the opinion that it is a conspiracy *nods* either by hanso or the other company
there's a great thread on digital spy (http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=477542&page=1&pp=25) about all this (totally spoiler free too)
some people actually guessed a couple of the things that came to light this week. eg the not-death of mikhail and the fact kate appears to be pregnant
and can i say this series of lost is much better than either series 2 or series 3a
Michelle

Thanks for that thread ~V~.. I visit one of the big Lost forums, but there's just too much to keep up with there.
Good article here (http://www.eonline.com/gossip/kristin/detail/index.jsp?uuid=6b216f1d-a86e-484e-b975-6a91fd7b612b).

Podcast news.. they seem to be saying that either the parachute girl was lying (which they also said would be rather boring!) or that another plane had been staged, by some sort of company or person with lots of power. There was NO mention of parallel worlds, time travel etc!!
They then said that we will find out more next week.
They also say that next week goes back to Locke and the Others, and we will find out how Locke's father got onto the island.
Roll on Sunday!! :D

Im pretty sure they discounted any sci-fi therories when the show first started and said that everything would have a logical explaination by the end so thats not too surprising. Although with some of the stuff its hard to see how e.g the monster. Btw what does everyone think about the rumour that theres only gonna be 5 seasons?
Michelle
6th May 2007, 19:05
They said in a recent podacst that everything would be science or pseudo-science, which gave them lots of scope!
Emi226
7th May 2007, 03:01
hehe sounds like a good get out clause to me. Can't say i complain though think lost wouldn't be lost without something that couldn't wholly explainable by science

Hmmm, another interesting episode!
Michelle
14th May 2007, 06:12
I only meant to watch the start, but ended up staying up to watch it all! I guess we got some answers.. we know that the people on the others aren't Dharma, but have been there for some time (so who are they?!). Although.. is that the 'incident' that Candle spoke of.. were there still people in certain hatches, that the 'hostiles' didn't know about?
Is Ben mad, does Jacob exist (and if so, who/what the heck is he?)? And, is Locke dead? The writers have apparently said the finale will be a showdown between Locke and Jack, but they've also said that there will be some deaths before the end.

Oh that's intersting Michelle!
This is why I enjoy Lost, there are so many twists and turns!

Finale! I didn't know that..... :( What am I going to watch now????
And yes I agree the past few episodes have been great, I really enjoyed the last one!
Michelle
28th May 2007, 16:25
Ok.. did no one watch, or is everyone kinda gob-smacked by that ending?! LOL
Here's my theory.. Kate, Jack, and one or more people will be taken off the island, but most will have to stay. That boat is nothing to do with Penny, and I think Ben is right.. they're not good people.
Jack is wrecked with guilt, because he led the boat to the Losties, and has possibly made things worse for them. Kate may possibly be being held against her will, hence why she is still being shielded from the police (she's a wanted criminal, and should, by rights, be in prison). Her comment about 'he will be wondering where I am' seemed to imply something like that.
Although it left me thinking 'what the ****?', I think it's a clever ending. It's enough to keep people wondering, until it comes back. I for one will be watching, to see where they are going to take it.
Poor poor Charlie.. I loved the way they developed his character over the last few episodes, and he was such a hero! I'm sad he's gone though.
Oh.. right at the beginning, I thought.. is this the past, or the future??!
Nici76
28th May 2007, 17:51
Yes I watched last night and WOW! I can't believe we have to wait unitl early next year though.......
I also can't believe that they killed Charlie
princessponti
29th May 2007, 18:12
Ditto!! Shocked!! I know that the actor wanted to leave the show, but still!! Why didn't Charlie go through the port hole, or lock the door from the other side or something!!
What a way to end the series!! - I'm even more confused now than I ever was. I absolutely hate the idea of them not being happy once they've left the island; I believe in happy endings, and this just isn't working out as I planned!!! It's gone horribley wrong! I can't believe we have to wait till February to find out what happens!! Ahhhhhhhh!!!!
...and why didn't Locke or Ben say WHY not to call the ship rather than being so cryptic!! There is a time for cryptic, and that was not it!! Bah!
Nici76
29th May 2007, 18:19
Jane, I agree with absolutely everything you have said!!!!! I was thinking all those things when I was watching it! It's as if you could read my mind!

I think Charlie knew that he had to follow the vision.. that he had to drown, for Claire and Aaron to be rescued. I thought it was all so well done.
I'm actually the opposite about endings.. I love unusual ones, rather than happy ever after!
princessponti
29th May 2007, 20:12
Huh! I didn't think of it like that!! I guess he was accepting his fate for the greater good - that makes it less annoying, thanks Michelle! But I still wanted to keep him, I really enjoyed his character and his relationship with Claire and the baby. ...mind you, the vision with the helicopter crash panned out without Charlie dying...Lost makes my brain hurt! I guess that's the point!
..o! I was so pleased to see Walt reappear! Yay!! How long have I booed his absence from the island after building his part up so much! Although Johnny thinks it's Jacob projecting Walts form somehow - any thoughts?
Maureen
2nd August 2007, 20:27
What I cannot understand is when Jack with the beard was drunk - at first I thought it was the past - but at the end it was the future - once they get off the island. So what was that comment "call my father, he would be more drunk than I am.." Isn't his father dead? Wasn't he originally travelling for his funeral? What was that all about?
Michelle
2nd August 2007, 21:32
I can't remember now, but the general concensus was that it was actually worded in a way that could be interpreted in different ways. I'm trying to find the relevant discussion in a Lost forum I used to read, but it's not loading very well right now.
Maureen
3rd August 2007, 10:21
Hey any thoughts as to who is in the coffin?
Lilywhite
3rd August 2007, 17:17
I'd like to guess but it will be wrong and it will probably end up being someone comepletely unrelated or who we haven't met yet.
Yes, I've learned not to try and second guess the lost plot writers. It's just not worth the headaches
Maureen
3rd August 2007, 17:40
Nah - it has to be related.
Remember when Jack went to the funeral parlour the f director asked him - friend or family? and he replied neither.
Then when Jack met Kate he remarked - I thought you would go to the funeral....and she replied with -Why should I ? (or close enough)...........

i cant wait cant wait cant wait cant WAIT until the 4th season.
I hadn't actually seen lost until about a month ago. I borrowed all 3 seasons from my friend and watched them all in about 2 weeks :hyper::clapping:I was overwhelmed!!! All of that awesomeness in just 2 weeks!!
anywhoo, after seeing the bit where jack and kate are in the apparent future, I really thought that it was fate that brought each of the characters to the island. Alot of the characters seemed to be happier after crashing on the island:
Herley - No more bad luck from the numbers (except perhaps the crash itself), and his imaginary friend is finally gone.
Kate - she doesn't have to worry about being chased by the cops
Charlie (bfor he died :motz:) - gave up his addiction & met Claire
Locke - obviously being able to walk again
the Korean couple (sorry forgot their names ) - they fell in love agian
Michael - built a better relationship with Walt
and i can't be stuffed thinking of anyone else, what with me being my lazy self and all lol...
what do you guys think? sorry about the spoiler things, just in case someone hasn't seen the 3rd season *shrugs*
OH yeh AND: maybe jack had regretted getting off the island (if that was what happened) because no-body else could see them. Well, they appeared to have died in reality in the crash, so maybe they're still kinda "dead" but not really "dead". haha you know what i mean?? maybe thats why kate's not in jail either *shrugs* but who knows
