I recall reading some of his books in my teens, but can't remember too much. I do recall some quite strange storlines though.

I recently picked up The Blackstone Chronicles in a charity shop, and I really enjoyed it. Ok, so it's a fairly standard horror, and doesn't tax the brain too much.. but was still good.

Has anyone else read John Saul?

I've read a few books by him. Can't overally remember the names though :?

I like him. Though the last book i read by him wasn't as good as his others. I think it was a newer book though. I will have to go to the library and look up some more of this older stuff.

My mum got me into John Saul when I was around 15.

It's been a while since I read anything of his, but I do remember Suffer the Children , Cry for the Strangers and Nathaniel ( which I picked up recently ).

I don't think he's a bad writer at all, Nathaniel was creepy, even though I'd read it before, I'm sure I'll read it again!

My mum and I read loads of John Saul when I was also a teenager. He is a good author, but I think we overdosed a bit, and went off him!

I read quite a few of John Saul's books in the dim and distant past, not recently though. I've read the ones Tracey mentioned. I quite enjoyed them at the time.

I used to love John Saul as a teenager - I do remember Nathaniel and Suffer the Children. I' ll have to look out for him

I also vaguely remember Mary Higgins-Clark - if I remember hers were very good as well - anyone else remember her?

Yes, I've read all of her books over the years. Easy to read and I always enjoy them.

Kell

He is very much like James Herbett and Stephen King. When I was in my teens I always thought that his books were just as good
