I saw the trailer for a new movie Children of Men (http://www.childrenofmen.net/) and thought it looked damn interesting. I did a little digging and found it's based upon the novel by P.D James of the same title. I think that I would prefer to read something like this than watch a movie. Books are so much better at conveying lots of ideas and concepts.

Has anybody read this book, and what did you think?

I have read this book but it was years, years ago. I can vaguely remember the plot and that the subject matter was interesting. I can't remember much about the writing style or the author's proficiency But I believe I enjoyed it quite a bit.

I agree.. the film looks interesting, but I think the book might be better.

I thought the film looked quite interesting, so I looked the book up on Amazon. If I remember rightly, the reviews weren't too glowing. I've never read any PD James before, but I might take a chance on this one if I can get it cheaply!

Ah really? Interesting :)

I haven't read any of his yet, either. Might take a chance on it...

I saw just the film. Actually one of the best I've seen. Perhaps I should read the book also.
