I'vejust got hold of the following mixesfrom America:

Buttermilk Biscuits
Corn bread
Red Velvet cake

All have additional things required but the measurements are "cups".

Can anyone over the pond tell me exactly how much a "cup" is, both for liquid & solids? I don't want to muck it all up by just using a mug (which I know would be wrong - LOL!).

Please help! I'm clueless & Im' desperate to try out these delicasies!

I believe this should solve your problem.

However, I could give you a pretty good recipe for Corn Bread from scratch rather than using the mix. :D

1 cup = 1/2 US pint = 8 fl oz.

Well, i made the cornbread & it turned out very well. It went down a treat - actually, i only got a couple of small bits & Dale has eaten the rest of it as he liked it so much! I think I shall have to get some more of that. Or if you'd like to post that recipe, Mugglenot, I'd love to try it from scratch!
